The offense is the shits right now, but how about Jessyko Bernard? I don't know what Santa brought him for Christmas, but whatever it was, it has the big guy excited. The last couple weeks he's been a completly different player. Scored today, had 2-3 prime chances last night against AB, just couldn't finish. He's skating hard, playing a strong north/south game, and using his skill and soft hands. Confidence will do wonders for players, and he looks to have finally found his.
Also over the weeked I liked Bety's game. He comes to play every night. It's going to be a tough call on him for a 20 next year. He brings all the intangibles, leadership, but will he bring enough offense to warrant being a 20? Both goalies looked good this weekend. Good to see Corbeil continue to play well even with Delmas in the fold. Shows some mental toughness on his part.
A couple tough losses this weekend, but the guys are still working hard and trying. But as has been the story far too often, just not enough skill to get us over the hump. I thought we played a lot better today against PEI then Sat night against Bathurst. Hopefully we can get the road trip started off with a big win in Lewy on Wed.

So frustrating to lose those games, Moose did everything right basically, worked hard, pinned PEI in, has lots of chances and were the better team all night. But the finishing touch just isnt happening right now. Still, admirable efforts by this team, they are truly way better than their record.

But at the same time in the last 7 games they've only allowed 15 goals against and that includes a 5-2 loss to Shaw. During that time they only allowed the other teams to go 4 for 38 on the PP... so their PK which has been around 76% or so most of the year has been close to 90% lately. This is with the youngest D in the league. So the scoring hasn't been there but we've seen huge improvement at the other end.
Bernard is playing very well now and with a bit more finish could be racking up the goals... as for what Santa brought him for Christmas, I think I read he's lost close to 15 pounds since the start of the year. With more quickness he seems t be getting in on the forecheck and to the net a bit quicker. Both him and Desjardins have seen their game really improve lately.
Hopefully Lemieux is ready to return soon and that young line can get back together and spark some scoring.

Good Job this weekend boys and no the officals didn't lose us either game but last night they sure didn't help; Fred Thomander and Clarkson did this afternoon's game I'm suprised Thomander did so well he hates Halifax and Truro aka anytime I like; He's a horrible ref but apparently a very nice person otherwise. Well he did a lot better than Connors and Mills thats for sure!!!

I don't know what Hannay said or did for the 4 min, but come on, really?? Slew foot - and it was appropriate. that would make sense as I believe Slew footing is an automatic double minor is it not?

Lost 14 pounds since the start of the season apparently www.metronews.ca/halifax/sports/article/430264--bernard-determined-to-keep-spot-in-lineup

Slew foot - and it was appropriate. that would make sense as I believe Slew footing is an automatic double minor is it not? The penalty was announced as unsportsmanlike, but at the next stoppage in play the referee went to the timekeeper to say it was "slew foot", if I read his lips correctly.

They have lost 12 games by 2 goals. 10 games by one goal (3 in SO and 1 in OT)
The scary thing is that in the 12 games since the Christmas Break they have scored 16 goals, and 5 of those were in one game. So over the other 11 games they averaged a goal a game.

I'll gladly take the top 2 overall Q draft pick and #3 overall in the import draft and look forward to September.
