Looking forward to tonight's game. I hope lots of fans will make the trip from Cape Breton. That always adds to the atmosphere. The key to winning this one for the Moose is to keep Luke Adam in check. He has been on an absolute tear lately. Should be a fun night. Go Moose!

Was Clarke benched after he took that stupid penalty when CB was on the PP in the second? I like Clarke, I am not trying to start the Clarke bashing again.

Great hockey..always love to beat Cape Breton. I think we are seeing a tease of what next year could bring. Solid team effort tonight. A few mistakes but Cape Breton brought a lot of pressure at times.
Knotek when he plays like he did tonight is just such a pleasure to watch. He made some moves tonight, a lot of them, that were just sick. The second goal I think the Cape Breton dee is still looking for his underwear cause he got undressed.
Desjardins is starting to live up to his potential, a nice goal he made happen out of nothing.
Delmas was solid, dee was good and all four lines contributed. Good crowd, definiately a fun night at the metro centre.
SWEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure, on the ride home we were trying to remember if we had seen Clarke in the third. I would not say that was a stupid penalty, as usual there were a few weak calls on both sides.

Great game to watch tonight. I thought the Moose outplayed Cape Breton overall and the Eagles goalie had to be very sharp. Knotek made a sick move on a shorthanded breakaway but put it off the post. It would have been such a sweet goal! The Moose win the battle of Nova Scotia and the Leafs win the battle of Ontario: it's a perfect night!

Clarke was playing pretty well tonight but it was a good time for Russell to send a message as in many ways the game was mirroring the night before so Russell sent the message that potentially costing the Moose a win won't be tolerated. That being said I can't remember the last time the Moose had a player that did so well in pissing off the other team. He was playing well tonight and laid some crushing hits on CB in the first. Nice big hit putting Meilleur on his ass and dropping MacIntosh with a great open ice hit, knocked him out of the game I think.
I look at the hits saying 12-10 CB and find it funny. That was one of the best first periods by the Moose in a long time and it really set the tone for the game. Halifax looked like the faster team and were also knocking CB around with a great physical game. The 4th line had some strong physical shifts and McGuigan threw some heavy hits... he was also in big Brodeur's ear after he got called for hitting Costello from behind which was good to see.
The first line has been back together for a few games now and tonight they were back to their old form with 2 big goals, 15 shots and a pile of great chances. Added on top of playing a fair bit against CB's top line, when Halifax can send Adam back to the bench twice because he was on for goals against it's a good thing.
The other most notable forward was the other goal scorer in Desjardins. He had a half dozen shots and was dangerous tonight... seemed to disguise his shot well on his goal.
On D with the message being sent to Clarke the guy did well rotating with 5. Abeltshauser and Amyot did well very well handling CB's big forwards... great to have a pairing like them. Amyot in some ways had one of his best games this year but he would often make a great defensive play, protect the puck a gain space and then turn it over with a bad pass... but in general he played well and really used his size. As did the big German, he gets beat wide the odd time but to be a 17 year old, 6'3" 198 pound, somewhat raw Dman who is a go to guy to shutdown a line like MacNiel-Adam-Lagace... tons of potential. Dimitruk had a very solid game. Bishop seems to have lots of confidence for a 16 year old... he's really flying under the radar but it's tough not to be happy with his play.
As for CB the young goalie made lots of good saves and was pretty good. As a contender, Adam was the real brightspot tongiht... so dangerous and look like a man among boys during many shifts. The downside being a big lack of depth on D. Brodeur, I'm not sure what to think of him anymore as I can remember seeing him at 17 and thinking it sucked that the Moose were going to be facing him for the next 3 years and now... just not sure about him and how he's developed. As for Lagace I think my opinion of him from the first game a couple weeks ago still stands... easy to knock off his game and he starts sooking. He didn't like the Moose physical play, started to drag ass, complain a lot to the refs and finally picked up 10 minutes because of it.
Great game by the boys and so close to shocking both Cb and SNB this weekend. I like the physical play being instilled into the young team... next year add some experiece and physical and skill growth as players and if they keep up that style of play they will see big improvements.
