Sauve only said one thing, and that is that Clarke is a chicken****. It seems to be true, so where is spewing anything? Learn to read Homer, everything I said after the backhoe remark was repudiating what Sauve was quoted as saying in the article. You must be illiterate then This is what Sauve said, "Some players have different ways of playing the game,'' Sauve said. "We have no control over that. That's the type of game they play and there's nothing we can do about that.'' Sauve said teammate Simon Despres was willing to engage in further physical contact with Clarke after the whistle. "Despres just pushed him and he dove on the ice and then faked (an injury),'' Sauve said. "It's a different kind of game. I'm not going to play like that and I don't think anybody on our team will play like that.''" None of what you said is ANYWHERE in there except the comment about Despres.

Could have swore I saw Hannay ask Sauve to go in that game in Halifax.

When was the last time Yann turned someone down? I've seen Yann ask guys to fight many times, but most players won't fight him. Among the league leaders? Clarke is tied for 13th in the league according to dropyourgloves.com. That isn't exactly what I'd call among the leaders. Yann turned Hanny down several times vs. Halifax.

Could have swore I saw Hannay ask Sauve to go in that game in Halifax. Probably while the game was still close too, right?

Both big D, 45 and 47, sometimes easy to mix them up.

Isn't it amazing what a little character can do for this league?
Some will find this an odd statement, but I wish there were more Garrett Clarke's in this league......it absolutely sucks that anyone not fitting the mold of a 6'2" 200lb defensively responsible player who can make a good first pass is deemed a trouble maker in this league.

To get this thread back on track rather than it be a Hal/SJ pissing contest... The comeback last night may have been exciting, and may have been pleasant to witness for the many casual fans among the nice crowd of 4500 or so, but it never should have been necessary. Yet AGAIN this team comes out completely flat on home ice, against a bottom-feeder opponent. It's mid-February now and there are only nine games left in the season. This has been happening since September. I'm not holding my breath for it to stop occurring. Only thing is, in the playoffs against a team like Moncton, you can't just flip the switch and cue the comeback like the guys did against Halifax last night. As for the Moose, they worked hard and deserved a better fate. There were some very nice passing plays among their forwards (their second goal was gorgeous, highlights are visible by the way at youtube.com/capebretoneagles). You didn't see those types of tic-tac-toe and give-and-go plays from this team the previous year and a half. I think it's a sign their young players are coming together and developing a good chemistry - this team should be much, much improved next season. But I still don't know if they have a good enough core to really contend for a championship at the high end of this particular building cycle. That could change with spring-time trades though. As for Garrett Clarke, he hurt the Moose bad last night. Terribly careless giveaway on the Eagles' first goal, a shorthanded marker that totally shifted the momentum and got CB going. If Halifax scored the next goal and went up 4-0, it was game over, but after Clarke's giveaway the tide turned. Then of course, late in the game the hit on Lagace may or may not have been dirty.... but was pretty careless. Five and the game, we score on the powerplay, that's the game. I don't know anything about this kid off the ice, but on the ice he seems to have "problem child" written all over him unless things change. He has potential to be a major bust as a #6 overall pick by Lewiston, and a very questionable pickup by a Halifax team that I thought was rebuilding based on "character" after the Marchand fiasco. Speaking of that Clarke-Lagace incident, I wasn't a fan of the Eagles sending Lagace back out only about a minute into the 5:00 powerplay. I thought that was a bit of a slap in the face to the Mooseheads. A few years ago, our Vincent Zaore and Lewiston's Alex Picard collided in a similar incident and Zaore got five and the game even though the hit didn't look intentional. Picard was out on their powerplay right away and we cried bloody blue murder. But last night, the Eagles did essentially the same thing... Mathieu Brodeur made a heck of a play to jump into the rush on our fourth goal, and made a beauty finish on what was possibly the prettiest goal of the night. Then, he made a really smart flip-pass out of the zone to set up Lagace for the empty netter. Those two great plays made up for the first Halifax goal, where he let Desjardins off the hook in the corner, only for Hali's #21 to center the puck out front for the goal. Tough kind of game for Roy, or any goalie, to play. You're not facing many shots, but the few you are facing are second and third rebounds.... and tic-tac-toe plays. He didn't look comfortable in the net, but I don't think many goalies would under those circumstances. He got the W, that's all that matters. Very nice crowd, and although you could hear a pin drop when we were down 2-0 and 3-0, the reactions for each goal en route to the comeback were really good. Crowd had a good pop factor. Overall, a pretty sloppy win, and this team had better find a way to play 60-minute hockey over the next nine games!

I think he is crazy but worse he is "stupid crazy", which is a real problem. the lines were a mess and nobody knows what the hell to do. I would not want to play for this man and from the start of the year i questioned the respect [players had for him. Notice he is less crazy with the line juggling and such when we play a stronger team. he is no good.
