For the Moose...They Laid everything on the line and really put out a great effort...Minus the PP but other then that it was really a good game for both teams...I have to give the Moose a lot more credit then I once thought...They will be a good team next year with all the youth they have....One player IMO they should get rid of is Clarke...His style is dirty and not really needed in hockey...Kinda like a Dan Carcillo...Only Carcillo can score too and play hockey not just fight...But I havent watched him all season long like you guys so I dont exactly know everything..however from what I seen of him just a dirty all around player..but again thats my opinion...However back to the game...Like I said it was a really good effort by the Moose and you could clearly tell they were playing their hardest...Great game.

Thanks for the post. Next year should be more fun. I hope Clarke grows up a bit over the summer as he has the potential to be a good player in this league. Was it a knee that Lacroix threw at Clarke in the third, Moore indicated he though it was dirty. Clarke has made his bed and he takes a lot of hits, some dirty that the reffs seem to turn a blind eye too. That rep is what may kill him in this league.

Thanks for the report. I think Clarke antics take away from what he brings but it also takes a lot away from outside fans being able to see the positives he brings. I mean he took no penalties today, had two hits and was a plus two... I know I wouldn't want him playing if he was on another team either but he has big upside. Also I'm not sure about the Carcillo can score comment... Clarke as a 17 year old this year had 22 points in 44 games which is solid production.

Good to hear, that after a long season, losing as many games as we did, and mirred in a 12 game losing streak to end the season, the boys still worked hard to the end. That is one thing you can't take away from this group. They consistantly went out and battled, had great work ethic and played tough. Going forward, if we can keep that intensity, and play with that same character, only have some skill to go with it, we'll be in good shape.

Positives - Work ethic, never gave up, boys played hard every shift. Some nice fights, Mcguigan hit everything in sight. Was a nice touch by Russell starting the 3 Island boys. McGuigan thumped #7 pretty bad, Andrews did pretty good in his, took some straight shots to the face and never flinched, got his own shots in too. Costello looked for a fight most every shift, but was turned down, surprised even Southorn wouldn't fight him, but had no problem fighting #74 who looked like Semin out there. that's one guy who should never fight. Knotek's goal was sick Negatives The PP was really bad, everybody was way too tentative, looking for the perfect play, which was never there. Corbeil fought the puck all game, second goal was pretty bad, rebounds galore. While most players played hard, there were a few passengers, Bernard being the worst Don't know what to think of Clarke, first shift did his thing getting the whole Rocket team wanting to get a peice of him, then settled down and played a solid game. The hit was iffy, one of those where the hittee is trying to get out of the way at the last second, and the hitter leans in to make sure he gets as big a piece as possible, making it part solid, part clip. Pellitier was useless as usual, the Rocket gained 0 by picking him up With any luck lala won't jump all over me about being an Islander homer or whatever he wants to label it, they just happened to be who I concentrated on. I'll gladly give my opinion on anyone else if asked

Haha I apologize I didnt realize Clake has those numbers...Those are pretty good numbers for a fighter.

And as for #74...does he fight much? haha it was all Southorn on that fight...As for your goalie...his rebound control was terrible..Is it always that bad? every shot there was a rebound..and with your team being so young you cant really expect much from them...But the work ethic was good and the ability to stay in the game and work hard every shift...thats the main thing... This Pellitier guy...He has done nothing ALL season has he...Like when he played for you guys...He has 1 assist ALL season...How is it not even possible to get more assists then that...I just dont understand with all the goals scored all season and he manages just 1 assist....anyways haha...

The future looks bright; and no Corbeil's rebound control is normally farily good but he will have a more experienced D next season. Thanks guys for the Recaps glad to see the boys fought it out right till the very end!!Go Moose Go and this fans will be there on opening night in Sept with a bum in a seat(Season 3 of STH); WOW way off topic Clarke is actually one of my favorites so I hope he plays as a 18 year old with a bit more control!!!

Actually hasn't fought for a while. He SHOULD be a top-pairing defenceman type.

I was at the game and....
First, on Clarke. He has developed such a bad stigma among fans, home and away, that he has quite literally become public enemy #1. He had a solid game yesterday. Anyone complaining about his play is just being picky. He played clean, kept out of trouble (ref gave him and Wright misconducts for nothing) and had a good all around game. Yet, the Moosehead season ticket holder I was sitting with had nothing but negatives to say about him the whole game. I understand he's given himself a bad rep, but when he plays well, and still gets trashed, that's not right. By the way, the PEI fans booed him every time he touched the puck... I LOVE it.
Regarding the team. Well, as I can only see them when they come to visit the Island, I watched them in preseason, before Christmas, and again yesterday. As a team, I saw no improvement. Some individuals have improved like Desjardins, Andrews, Corbeil, Gillard, Albetshauser, but overall as a team, they still stink. I was disgusted in the first period when they couldn't even pass the puck to one another. I felt like I was watching a bunch of Jr A players who've never played together ever. How does this happen over a 68 game schedule?
Halifax was on the powerplay the whole 2nd period, including 2 lengthy 5 on 3's. The only scoring chances they had were where Knotek shot laserbeams into the boards 3 feet above the net.
Corbeil made the save of the year in the first. I don't remember which Rocket player he robbed, but it was a thing of beauty.
I wonder how many season ticket holders will put up with this if no positives come out of next season?
