Lagace didn't even have a shot tonight. Almost goal per game in Chicoutimi....we'll be lucky if he's at a shot per game by the time this series ends.

Listen guys, many of us have been saying all along that Moncton is the real #1 team, so it isn't any kind of upset here with them winning 2 games at home. Although I can understand fans being disappointed in the ways the team lost. Thank goodness they were missing 4 quality players tonight!
The Eagles are playing like they did many many nights this season. There's no magic switch for the playoffs.
I would love for someone to replay Kenny's broadcast of the game tonight on the drive home so the players could hear all the negative comments. NOW that might really get them fired up for the next 2 home games.

For how good we are supposed to be, that shouldn't happen, even if they are the best team in the league.

If I can find one positive, " Your never in trouble in the playoffs until you lose on home ice " but I'm sure if we play like we did tonight that will happen Tuesday.

Just got in from the game. Not a pretty one for eagles fans who made the trip. Here's a few thoughts.
Roy was actually playing pretty well, kept them in it for a while but they didnt help him out period.
Brodeur's hit was loud, I didn't think it should have been 5 but the other guy was a lot smaller.
MacNeil played the 3rd like he knew it was coming to an end for him, hope he keeps it up.
Adam was invisible until they put him back with MacNeil and had Legault on the other wing.
Legace started to pick up late in the 3rd but I still don't see why he was such a huge deal when we got him.
Cuzner, give him credit, he's a pest.
Why is it Larade over Woodworth? Also, Mario seems to be triple shifting Brodeur and sitting the 5th and 6th d men until everyone else is too tired.
Horyl hits like a smaller Kevin Asselin.
Dion and Shaw played better than most.
Ellis played pretty well.
Meilleur kept coughing up the puck.
Best line of the night was when Dion was called. Fans yelling "Yea Celine, you belong in the box"
Reffing was atrocious on both sides.
If we are going to get back on track they need to shot (how else is it going to go in) and STOP MESSING UP THE LINES every 5 minutes.

What a mess that was... the lines all screwed up, playing brodeur 55 minutes a game while leaving some decent D on the bench and scratching another. Roy should have been yanked after the 3rd goal. Can you feel the wave building for 2012 behind Mario???

Jack Bauer, I know that you're not supposed to lose like that when you're winning 3-1 near the middle of the 2nd period and I know the Eagles should be able to take advantage of Moncton missing 2 top 6 forwards and 2 top 5 D BUT tell me honestly, after watching this team play inconsistently from period to period and from game to game DOES THIS REALLY SURPRISE YOU?
YES or NO?

I find the biggest difference in the series so far has been the Eagles defense inability to counter the Cats forwards and OBR making the big saves to keep you guys in it. Offensively the PP has been good but 5 on 5 the Cats defense and Rio has your top players completely shut down. I'm sure the fact that they run around trying to finish each check is taking up most of their energy.

Biggest problem for the Eagles is behind the bench as far as I'm concerned. Whining and crying over that hit from behind call in the last few minutes when it was a 4-0 hockey game. Then he cried even more after the Cats scored to make it 5-0...really made a big difference in the game. Is it an automatic suspension for Brodeur? That would be the only reason to be so upset since he barely plays Fournier and even more so Larade.
Hope to see you all at C200 on Tuesday for Game 3!

As long as CB continues their plan of trying to drill Moncton players through the glass and forgetting they should get some quality scoring chances this series should continue the same way. I think Bernard got 3 Shifts and Howe got 1 .

You have no choice but to go with Roy. I think they should have put Veronneau in after the 4th goal last night because it was over at that point. Roy is still a top goalie in this league and has the potential to steal a game for you.
I wonder if Mario will go back to Adam/Hertz/Horyl & MacDougall/Dion/Legault lines. You know , the lines that actually worked and helped us win 9 of our last 11 games. I don't know why you would wait for the start of the playoffs to try something new??
WE better hope Brodeur is not suspended or some will realize just how important he is to our team.

Unfortunately the trend from the regular season has just continued into the playoffs regarding the 3 forward acquisitions for each team.
Moncton's trio in 73 regular season games had 31 goals and 47 assists and were a combined +35 while the Eagles group of three accounted for 16 goals and 30 assists and were +23 in 71 games played.
In the playoffs so far: the Moncton three have 4 goals and 6 assists and are + 8 while the Eagles three have 0 goals and 2 assists and are -4.
Whether Brodeur is suspended or not, with his huge playing time minutes, it only highlights once again the failure to secure a top D at trade period. Moncton who was stronger on the blueline still went out and acquired Alex Wall who might play Tuesday. Wall had 10 pts and was a +8 for Moncton in 22 games after the trade.
The Eagles overplayed 4 D are worn out half way through the game with the physical style of play and the amount of penalty killing! That might help account for the defensive miscues and poor play in the last 30 minutes each night.
