Seems like every discussion on here always ends up with Garrett Clark, and people asking if the Moose are done with him. or has he worn out his welcome.
Basically who knows...we know he probably is not the easiest kid to coach on the ice, and for off the ice stuff we really don't know what kind of kid he is, unless we are close to someone in the orgination, or his billets.
With all that said, the one thing I can say for sure if you asked Cam, are you glad they traded for Clark,,,,He would say without a doubt that was a great trade to get him. He is like a 12 year old kid finding a $500 mountain bike at a yard sale with a flat tire and a broken chain, and getting it for $75. Might never be fixed and you may have to throw it out some trash day, or you may get it fixed and have one of the best bikes in the hood. Are there issues? Most likely yes Can they be fixed? Most likely yes.
The reason we always end up discussing Clarke from a Moosehead perspective. Each Moose fan knows he has potential, and also he has issues. This is not rumors it has been noted by the Coaching staff, the media and Garrett himself. No matter as a moosehead fan if you like him or hate him you know he has trade value, and for a team weak on offence his trade value is way too high to forget about with us having such a strong blueline.
It does not matter at this point if Clarke were to light the Moose Dressing room on fire, or if he were to build a new wing on the IWK this summer with his own 2 hands. At this point his potential is questionable as he raises some RED flags, and at the sametime has trade value is queestionable as in the right circumstance he could be worth alot. So there will always be this discussion. Even if the issues go away...the value than goes up and we still discuss trading him because we than know we can get the offensive help we need by getting rid of him.
The second reason the trade talks will never go away, is not because of Moose fans but other teams. Much like many players before him other teams know about him. Ramzi Abid, Pascal Morency, Brad Marchand, Kevin Cormier Jule Edy Laraque, and George Davis are just afew players that were disliked if not hated by the opposing team. Each of these players brought way more to the game than offence or defence. They could change the tone of the game in seconds. If it were by taking the fans out of the game, pissing the other team off so much the team became unglued or by even just knocking out the other teams tough guy. All the mentioned players "like" them or "hate" them are always wanted as they bring something to the game that not every player in the Q can bring.
Garrett Clarke has the potential to be that player thats why the trading Clarke talks will never stop. Who cares if he wore out his welcome, who cares if he become Cams favourite player. The trade talks will never end because the type of player he is.
