Ken's problem was his failure to listen to the concern's of many fans, billet parents and even owners about his overboard negativity at times. There is a real difference between pointing out a mistake made by a player and an all out "calling out" of a player! I know that Pascal Vincent had strong words with him about that habit at least on one occasion.
Anyone who ever watched an Eastlink broadcast with Ken in the background would have noticed a significant difference in both tone and accuracy at times. comparing him to Dan Robertson.
During road games, I was frustrated many nights because I wanted to know who was on the ice killing a two man short penalty or on a powerplay after a stoppage but I was left hanging because of a "Pierre MaGuire" type anaylsis of a play that ran on into the resumption of play.
I actually liked Kenny's enthusiasm about the team and the energy he brought to the broadcasts most nights but there were nights I had to shut him off, out of frustration. I honestly wish he had accepted the many expressed concerns as suggestions to help continue to improve his broadcasting skills and I hope he gets another chance to continue his career very soon, having benefited from this whole experience.
If Kenny was "shafted" as someone is reported to have suggested, I think it was self induced. I'm sure the radio station last year expressed their concerns to Kenny before he was hired!
Did anyone actually hear the reasons Kenny was told he was being let go?
And Jack, I think many of us are actually getting tired of talking about the 2009/10 debacle!
