Who is tearing someone a new one? A poster decided to post that she heard a scout say that a Moose player is the real deal. When questioned on it, she provided who she heard it from...and thus was clearly called out on it. Nothing was over the top and to be honest it was rather civilized compared to other threads. This is not new behaviour, and it's what is expected on these boards. As I said it was rather tame. As for the comment she probably didn't know who Masher is, well she knew enough to know his name...and a quick google search will tell you who he is to see what this person knows about hockey. If I am going to use a source or post something as credible news I always check up on the person...so I don't look like a fool. As for credibility on the boards Gman. Who would you believe on a players ability, lala or chsb? Credibility is the word being thrown around here that I have a problem with. Who said it was a credible source? If someone heard me talking about a player I had seen, then they come on here and post how they heard such and such a player was good/bad, whatever, I think most people here are smart enough to know that it's just one person's opinion. Yes, we value some people's opinions over others, but I see no problem with the original post we are discussing here. Why "call her out"? After learning the source, the polite thing to do would be to point out that we can't really trust that source, so we'll have to wait and see. Why is it that posters can't take the high road anymore. It seems being arrogant is the "in" thing. If I'm going to be arrogant, I'm going to call out hfxfan for saying she thinks Clarke, Albeshauser Konrad, or Hannay will lead the team in scoring... Moosetalk wouldnt be Moosetalk if GMAN wasnt complaining about something

Wow this would be one hell of an exciting board if that happened. A few people disagreed with her, and also pointed out that the person she called a scout is not a scout. The only reason I came into the picture is because she asked the mods to give a warning to fireball for trolling. At that point I pointed out to her that on the board people will disagree with people. I also find it ironic that you are complaining about people "calling out someone" and you are doing it while "calling out" others.

Oh jesus...not Masher... He isnt a scout... I saw Masher at Tim Horton's on Young Street back in February; he was wearing a gimmicky FBI T-shirt that he probably got at a yard sale and he kept trying to convince me that he was an undercover FBI agent. LOL He's a joke. 2 years ago Masher was at the Fred Page Cup in Dieppe pretending to be a scout as well. Funny thing is his duffle bag was a mickey mouse bag ;D

The "MASHER" strikes again with his BS comments; not a total surprise. The man likes to talk, all he is folks is a fountain of misleading information. Not looking for an arguement with anyone, just that I have had some conversations with "Masher" about players that he had supposedly had brought to NS for certain teams in the Junior "A" and "B" Leagues. It was all BS, but I played his game and acted stupid! ;D

I should mention that while awaiting the doors to open for Moosehead games (I always go early to see the warmups) this guy was always like me there early and a lot of times he would be talking to Marcel Patenaude so I asked a guy who generally knows his hockey who this guy was and he said hes Masher a scout, so I assumed that who he was, now that I heard the rest of the story, it appears that he is not a scout and I thank you.

Yeah, talking to Patenaude, Bobby Smith to get a free ticket to a game! Hell I have even seen talking to Blair Joseph when Cape Breton was in town to swindle a free ticket out of him to get into the game!

My brother was talking to Gerrard Grant yesterday and he was coming from a workout, he said he was ready for the camp and he expected it to be very competitive for spots this year, Bro though Gerrard looked in great shape and actually looked bigger than last season, just a little over a week to go.

Noticed that Andrew Smith is still on the Q list , but not the camp list.
Is he still protected by Halifax?

Wuest's twitter has updated information on training camp - twitter.com/metroqfiles . No Ryan Nickerson, no Mike Vecchione, no Kody Orr, and no Randy Chisholm. The Moose have added two forwards - Derek Trider from Citadel High School and William Legay from Notre Dame Hounds midget AA.

3 days til the on ice and while the Frk situation gets addressed we will be able to assess and concentrate on some newcomers and hopefully see improvements on returning veterans. While things look brighter on paper, it will be great to actually see it developing on the ice also I,m looking forward to a packed rink for the inter squad games, which might indicate a return of former fans. All in all there is a lot of excitement in Mooseland and it can only grow with the start of camp. See you there !

I'm going Cole Harbour Place to check out Ciampini, Ashley, Desmarais, Terenzio and Turbide, I'm not quite sure why I choose these guys, its just that I think they maybe the foundation of a contender down the road and they may also help to make us a lot more respectable this season.

Matthew Wuest contunes his outstanding effort on covering the Moose. Check out his twitter (http://twitter.com/metroqfiles) for articles on the 20's, the goaltenders and Delmas in particular.
