Wow! I know at one time (and perhaps as recently as last year; I've lost touch a little over the past 2), John Moore pretty much did everything when it came to Mooseheads radio, from gaining sponsorship to the broadcasts themselves. When I broke into the league in 03, he was pretty much THE guy I looked at as the quintessential PBP man, at least in the English part of the league.
This has been a summer where a few longtime voices have gotten done in the Maritime Division. John, Les and Kenny were the voices of the Moosheheads, Wildcats and Eagles respectively for most of the last decade. While it'll be odd to punch up a game without the latter 2 this season, I think it'll be even more strange for people tuning in to the Mooseheads on radio and having someone other than John Moore calling the action.

That is the cheesiest job ad I've ever seen. "Quebec Junior A league"?? Just the fact that they are going out to a job recruiting company seems desperate.
John Moore has been tweeting about the Moose all summer long. It seems very strange that he's walking away. I wonder if he couldn't come to a deal with 95.7. Would he move to another station? He has in the past.

john going to moncton to join the cats I'm sure he would feel dirty at first...but he'd be much happier after that initial period of time. ;D

I'll bite, why would John Moore be happy living in Moncton ? Not that I believe that statement about Moore moving on, but isnt he from that area? I thought I remember him in the offseason tweeting or writing about attending events in the SJ/Moncton area as if it was in his backyard... maybe Im wrong..

Well, Moore probably is the most recognized (English) broadcaster league wide. I'm not that surprised it's gotten a good amount of attention.

Well, Moore probably is the most recognized (English) broadcaster league wide. I'm not that surprised it's gotten a good amount of attention. John Moore is THE voice of the mooseheads. There have been no other radio voices. He started this back during the masterful run in 97 I think. I can remember listening to the Chicoutimi series on the radio back during the great run that year. Moore has to factor into the success of the Q in the maritimes. He was leading the way and has done a great job of promoting not only the Moose but the Q. Heck Moore use to have more radio advertisements than the Mooseheads did. Love him or hate him, you have to respect what he has done. I personally hope that this is just Rogers trying to make this an in house position and that they will hire Moore to do the play by play. I believe in the past it was Moore doing the radio with his company and contracting that out with radio stations. This looks like it is now Rogers that has the contract so it could be playing numbers...the advert seems to be written for Moore. I hope he does get it because he put a lot on the line and put up with a lot to bring us Moosehead games on the road. He has had to line up sponsors, deal with a hectic schedule and battle through the Eastlink years (where Eastlink was broadcasting more Moose road games - includinging playoffs). Moore put a lot into this (including his own financial sacrifices) and for that I respect his push and hope he continues. As for maddie wondering why there have been so many posts on this. Well no one has been associated with the Mooseheads as long as John Moore. When you think about it, players, coaches, GMs, owners, Hal the mascot. Moore has been the longest serving face (and voice) of the Mooseheads. If it wasn't the dog days of summer there would be many more posts.

I wasn't wondering why there was so many posts, rather I was amazed at so few from Moose Country where Mr Moore has been a fixture as I so noted of the 12 os so posts at the time I made mine the out of town posters outnumbered the moose fans which is sad. He must still be employed by the hockey club in a P/R roll as his twitter is still producing stories and videos of Moose players and events as recently as yesterday.
