...was released by the Huskies today. Might be a good idea as our third OA if Horyl is unable to play. He has local connections.

You need one if you get Lambke. He only skates one way, so you have to tilt the rink so he can coast back the other way.

He would have fit right in some nights last year.
I find it hard to believe that the Eagles traded for several 19 year olds last year and not one of them is back this year. If Horyl is finished the Eagles might be considering trading for a 2nd 20 year old.
Has this ever happened before in Eagles history? Didn't the team usually have 4 or 5 legitimate players battling for the three 20 year old positions?
Some fans might have thought that the team was stacked with nine 19 year olds last year, since it was felt by some that the Eagles were strong enough to take on Moncton and St. John.

Lambke has impressed me with his offensive skill and especially his speed the few times I've seen him as a Titan. Those assets would be of help to a team like the Eagles who are in desperate need of some scoring. And he does have local connections - he has family from Dominion. We've seen players thrive with a homecoming to Cape Breton - look at Joey Haddad.
But if he just got released by an RN team expected by many to be the worst in the league..... and if he was a -49 (that's mind blowing!) last year...... there's gotta be something wrong.
I don't truly know enough about the guy's game to have a true opinion on whether or not I'd like to see the Eagles pick him up if Horyl was going to be out for any extended period. But based on the red flags discussed in this thread, any team thinking of acquiring him should probably do their homework to say the least before acting!

But based on the red flags discussed in this thread, any team thinking of acquiring him should probably do their homework to say the least before acting! Believe me, you don't want him. I have been a season ticket holder in Bathurst since the beginning and have watched him his whole career. My only regret with Lambke was that he wasn't traded away earlier. He looked like he had a lot of promise the first couple years, but after that it kinda looked like he figured he was a lock on the team, first line and all, so it went downhill. He is the type of guy that has a ton of skill, but zero heart and even less work ethic. If he had the puck in the offensive zone, he was great, dangerous. Once he lost the puck, the shift was over for him. The play would be all the way at the other end of the ice and he would just be coming out of the offensive zone. I've seen numerous too many men calls against us from him coasting back to the bench. On line changes when he was going off, the opponent would have about a 20 second powerplay before he got to the bench and the other guy got to the play. Seriously, it was that bad. for someone with his skill I was always hoping that he would wake the hell up. If he had half the heart as he did skill, he would have been a very good asset for Bathurst to have this year with a contending team. He finished the year at a -49 yes. He was actually at -52 at one point, but got a few +'s near the end of the year. I would account about -10 of that to slow line changes. lol the other -39 was a lot of not seeming to care, not getting back on defense, etc. It was frustrating to watch some nights. He got traded to one of the worst teams in the league this year and they didn't want him as a 20. What does that tell you? lol He started the year so far with 1 point in 5 games and a -5, so it looks like he is carrying on his legacy he had in Bathurst. He reminded me a lot of Michael Tessier during his stay in Bathurst. Skill and no heart. Lambke has a little less skill and a lot less "want to".

I think norahs is being a wee bit harsh on lambke
no doubt having the worst +/- in the entire Q is indicative of a lack of defensive awareness..... but you can't blame all -49 on one player lol
anyways if he was actually released and is free to pick up... I'd think CB would be wise to do so... hell even if he cost you a 7th or 8th round pick I'd do it.... he will help you offensively and that is your glaring need thus far

After those first 2 games, I'll take the extra scoring and deal with the -49.

I am sure it is buried in a thread somewhere on here, but what is wrong with Horyl?

I am sure it is buried in a thread somewhere on here, but what is wrong with Horyl? The verdict is still out on that one. I'm sure someone here knows. The three things that I've heard were: 1. Family issue, preventing him from playing the entire season 2. PCS symptoms 3. Shoulder injury

After those first 2 games, I'll take the extra scoring and deal with the -49. Why deal with it at all though when you have so many kids at the end of the lineup? Lambke doesn't improve this team at all, for what he adds to a scoring he takes away from a strength in this teams ability to ice so many kids right now and get a feel for who is best cut out to play here in the long term. Personally if I want to upgrade on Horyl I shoot a little higher then another bottom tier player on the cheap. Wait 2 more weeks when pro camps are all done and you'll probably get a top 6 forward for a draft pick.

I think the price is right on Lambke. It is pretty obvious the problems this team is having scoring, that a guy like Lambke could help, especially on the PP.
If Mario knows the status on Horyl, and knows he is going to be out a while, why not add Lambke. If someone better comes back and the price isn't too high, you can always release Lambke to add whoever.
He would be basically taking up the same ice time Horyl would if he were playing. But if it meant a guy like Bergeron had to sit, I would be fine with that.

Bergeron has been a scratch for what...2-3 of the opening 6 games? It would probably take away ice time from Plouffe or Jodoin.

I doubt it would be Jodoin or Plouffe. Bergeron, Grenier or A. Carrier most likely. If Horyl was playing 1 of those guys would be sitting anyways.
