Yes but will Verroneau be sent back to play AAA in Quebec or will he be sitting in the stands for 90% of the season. The latter will hinder his development. I'm sure something will happen with the goalies at Christmas time.... he isn't going to be sitting in the stands until the end of the year

From my viewpoint right behind #30 Lacerte, François I would say he was the star of the night with several key saves in the first two periods to keep CB in this game ...
other CB players of note were D #81 Hrabarenka, Raman love the name and he was a +1 and solid in front of his net
and for the wrong reason D #4 Ellis, Morgan [C] -2 who played a very undisciplined game compared with other games I have seen him play ... his penalties didn't cause any goals but seemed to be momentum killers
On the Titan side Roy was only busy in the 3rd period but came up with several key saves late to earn his well deserved 100 Q win ...
O'Brien had his best game here and scored an important goal to make it 3-1 with a goal scorers wrist shot ... a beut ...
Tanel wearing the "A" once again was solid with an assist and +2 rating ... Levesque was flying out there .. with a nice goal on an O'Brien feed and had +3 rating on the night ...
Gilbert and Chiasson both missed wide open nets ... all in all game was not as exciting or as fast as the Saint John game ... both teams made a lot of sloppy passes ... the win is always nice but as I said in the opening the games #1 star was Lecerte

He's been doing that for us all season, singlehandedly keeping us in games... and he's stole a couple of wins for us too. Nobody except Mario has any clue why we needed to try and upgrade in net when there are weaknesses everywhere else. Edit: And possibly even more confusing is that this three-goalie system will probably leave 17-year-old Verroneau lost in the shuffle, which could impact his entire Q career. Last year, Mario brought him up at Xmas, proclaiming him as our goalie of the future. a little overdramatic with your last point....... it's hardly going to impact his entire Q career because he is now the number 3 goalie until Christmas as a 17 year old hell Evan Mosher got called up at 16... spent his entire 17 year old season in the MJAHL and never became a Q starter until midway thru his 19 year old season..... and he's doing just fine That's true, but for every example like Mosher there are plenty of other goalies who are misused at 16/17 and end up never realizing their potential because of it. All I'm saying is I'd rather not see Verroneau end up being another addition to that goalie graveyard. His apparent descent in Mario's mind from #1 goalie to #3 goalie is a little puzzling.

Only a Little Puzzling ? Mario is probably looking at flipping both Lacerte and the New Guy at x-mas time for pieces down the road ! Then going with Verroneau down the stretch to gain the alll important experience for our Big Year .......next year ! * Make Sense ? If you answered yes then you can bet this Weeks Paycheque that it won't happen !

He was #1 because you had nobody else at the time..... doesn't change the fact he didn't drop from #1 to #3 and have his entire career ruined by adding Hayes Clearly Lacerte had established himself in camp as number 1 ... that's why he got the opening night start.... and clearly he had established himself as #1 with his regular season play.... Verroneau was barely playing at all..... the only thing changed now is Verroneau gets to wear a suit for awhile instead of his goalie gear

And in between those two times, Mario was quoted on numerous occasions as saying he expected Verroneau to be his #1. Then Lacerte had several nice starts, and he suddenly seemed reluctant to play the 17-year-old.

If Lacerte is playing well, we're going to go with the hothand, because Mario knows how important a win or 2 pts will be this year. Rather than play a 17 yo who could potentially lose, even though its beneficial to his development.

is it really beneficial to his development to lose regularly as a 17 year old?

is it really beneficial to his development to lose regularly as a 17 year old? To get the ice time, yes. More benefical then sitting in section 24.

is it really beneficial to his development to lose regularly as a 17 year old? Fleury went #1 overall after we had a brutal team in 02-03. Anything that hurts playing time of a youngster is potentially hurting their development at this point. If losing teams didn't play their kids they'd be a losing team forever.

Finally got to watch the highlights on youtube, as I missed most of the game.
Hertz's first goal...the tap in on a sick pass by MacDougall was fantastic. As was his penalty shot.
Does anyone here order the webfeeds regularly?
