If he isn't a Huskie before Sept. 15, I'm called Christopher.

I always thought the Snow Dogs would be where he ended up, call it a hunch....... and I figured at the draft they made the draft for the Bell pick knowing there was a good chance of getting it back. Just guesses all round but that been my hunch all along if he was to move.

New twist.......... Jean-Marc Belzile @jmbelzile Rien pour arrêter les rumeurs, Nicolas Roy qui s'entraîne avec un chandail des Huskies à la pratique des Forestiers. #lhjmq #huskies I'm not a least bit surprised. I've heard for a couple of weeks now that they're the front runners. They also own Cape Breton's 1st 2014 which will be headed in return.

Pure sports-entertainment gold!

The trade must have been on the table since the draft. Dumont probably wanted to wait if Roy was really serious about his intentions.

Well, I highly doubt they'll be unable to trade Roy haha. Sad, sounds like in the end the family is blocking all possibilities for Nicolas playing in CB despite all their concerns being addressed. They just don't want to have him too far from home. Another unfortunate thing is that although I'm sure the haul for Roy will be good, its all picks, including the compensation. The core of the Cape Breton team is 96 and 97's... all these picks will be for next years draft at the earliest, which means 98' born players. This leaves the eagles with two options: Trade up for already drafted 97' and 96' born players, or use the picks and set the rebuild back another season. The second option probably makes the stronger and more sustainable team, but can you guys afford 2 more seasons of being a bottom-half squad. When you throw into it potential good return for Carrier and Hache the Eagles could be well set up for a good few seasons. That would be the smart move. Trade Roy now for a 2014 1st plus some very good 1996 and 1997 players. At midseason put Hache and Carrier on the block and add more 2014 picks and 1996 and 1997 players. A guy like Corriveau could also bring back a pretty good return for a team looking for bottom 6 help/size/toughness. Would set you up for a run in 2 years and a decent team next year.

I'd like to see it too but I think because the team has been so bad the last few years, if there is even a little bit of success there will be pressure to not sell too heavy. I'd love to see both Hache & Carrier moved but I doubt it'll happen.
