You simpletons need to give it up. He isn't coming back, as much as you want him to fail and be returned to the Mooseheads. Agree. Can't believe some people are still thinking he could get sent back. There is about as much chance of Mackinnon being sent back. Why don't we start a 12 page thread on that. Umm I did say IF he got sent back, not that he could or even will get sent back. Try reading to get the proper context.

For those who are dillusional like myself and think there is a 1% chance that Drouin will be back, if he dresses for the next two games, game 9 for Drouin is on Saturday.

Agree on that. So back to my point....let's start a Mackinnon returning thread I put it at 100% that MacKinnon will return to Halifax at some point. That's too funny!

I hope his ice time goes up- got him in my pool and he is taking up a spot that I could drop him but what if he gets going and somebody scoops him up before I get him back!!!

@hfxmooseheads announce Jonathan Drouin to join team. @jodrouin27 was a key to team's successWhat a three-year period it has been for this kid. Seems like he's had a bit more of an adjustment period at each level than some superstars go through. I believe he'll make his way in the NHL eventually. Call me selfish, but I'd love for Tampa to let him go to the World Jrs. I believe Duclair is going to the camp if I'm not mistaken. Edit: Pretty good article explaining why the author doesn't think Drouin will go: tbo.com/sports/lightning/bolts-beat-best-thing-for-drouin-is-to-stay-put-20141207/

NHL players go to international tourneys all the time. Its not like its a month long and it is not in europe to mess his internal clock. If he is a key player or getting big minutes I could understand. When he retires with no Stanley Cup a gold would be a good memory.

Okay so because he had 2 cracks at WJs he can't come back for another shot? For the ice time he is getting he is doing okay, not great, but okay. I would love to see him play for Canada- he'll probably be a better player coming back to Tampa Bay after. Oh and I hope Vancouver and Ottawa release Horvat and Lazar respectively for Canada.

I think the mentality with Drouin should be that just because he isn't ripping up the NHL doesn't mean he isn't good enough for it. He has 11 points in 20 games playing mostly 3rd line and getting 13mins of ice time per game. He's an NHL player, and I guess he'll learn more by playing against men than he will tearing up a junior tournament. Again, selfishly, I'd love to see him play for Canada. But I don't think it'll happen.

Two points in as many nights for the kid. Looking a lot better lately. First career power play goal on Monday night against Fleury and the Penguins.

Must admit I was dead wrong when I thought Hoffman would walk over Drouin in that fastest skater event. Drouin posted the 2nd fastest time ever in that competition (In its current format). Drouin strikes me as the guy that would make up time in the turns rather than on the straight-aways.

Yeah never would have pegged Drouin as the "fastest skater in the NHL" But he always had deceptive speed, and his agility helps make those tight turns at high speeds and keep going in an event like that. And what a year (couple of years) for Voracek. 6 points and leading the NHL in scoring. Great to see, given how Columbus basically gave up on him so early. Always enjoyed watching him play with that combo of creativity, playmaking and scoring. Would have loved to see what a guy like Ducharme could have done with that Marchand/Voracek team which was pretty talented throughout.

fastest skater ... of the ones invited
still one of the most overhyped and disappointing rookie seasons in recent memory

fastest skater ... of the ones invited still one of the most overhyped and disappointing rookie seasons in recent memory Well as far as rookie 19 year old forward production goes, I'm sure he is doing just fine. TB are very deep on talented forwards and they have bounced him all over the lineup. He was never a guy I thought would immediately have his way at the NHL level. I understand the "nothing left in junior" for him mentality, but at the same time, he still needs to grow (mentally, physically) to be an impact guy at the NHL level. He doesn't look out of place when I have watched him, just struggling with consistency which is pretty normal.
