I was able to watch the first two periods and as expected, the Cats got off to a very slow start. You could see the nerves even through the grainy Telus feed. I think the only shots they got on net in the first period were on the power play. The Armada were skating circles around them. They seemed to have settled down and got back to their game in the second. Marcoux made some big saves on the PP in the first and second.
If you eliminate that 10 seconds in the first period the Wildcats won the game so there's really nothing to be ashamed of here. The Wildcats are a MUCH less experienced team.

There's two ways of looking at last night's game.
On the one hand it was a pretty solid effort by the Cats and only a one goal loss. Definitely one of their better efforts in a while against one of the upper tier teams. It certainly gives some hope that this could be an interesting series.
On the other hand I can't help but feel that the game was very much there for the taking. It felt as though the Cats were getting unlimited PP chances in the first two periods and just could not convert. That really killed them in the end. I'd also have to say that Marcoux was slightly better than Dubeau and if that's going to be the case the Cats really have no chance.
Hopefully they can keep playing like they did in the third period, but at the same time I would expect a better and more disciplined effort from BB tonight.

Actually I found the Telus feed from BBA was pretty good ... as far as Q rink Telus feeds go. They have the camera pulled back so there is less panning going on which causes the image to degrade ... and they don't try to get fancy with handheld cameras in the corner or closeups of a puck carrier. I had sound issues in the 3rd where the audio would freeze and then come back and then the audio was 4 or 5 seconds behind the image ... easily fixed by restarting at a break in the play ... but that may have been in-house problems for me. I watched the game on my phone (not Telus) as I find if I get too large then the image degrades. Tonight I'll try it on my tablet to shake things up a little ... maybe a different seat also. On the whole I was disappointed with our first two periods ... but we had a great 3rd. They turned up their tempo in the 3rd and played a much more physical style ... and had BBA backing up most of the 3rd. With so many rookies and so little experience I figured it would take awhile for them to realize that a higher tempo was needed. I also thought the Refs were on our side last night and felt BBA got shafted a few times.

I also found our D were often getting beat along the boards and BBA often got chances to throw the puck in front of our net. If we can improve here and keep up the tempo we had in the 3rd period, it'll make for an interesting game tonight. For last night's game, I think if we would have gotten another 5 minutes, we would have tied that up.

the difference in that game was powerplays. If Moncton could have gotten their pp going, you would have won....0 for 5, including 4 in a row in the 2nd period. Huge pk's for BLB.
