Tough 7-2 loss in game 1.
I didn't get to see or hear game 1 but the result did not surprise me at all. This Eagles team is very young and opened on the road in a tough building.
Tonight I expect a closer game and hopefully some positives to bring home on Tuesday. I'm going to have some faith in our D and goaltending that they will all have a huge bounce back game and give us a chance to win.
Going to predict a 5-4 OT win for the Eagles setting up a huge game 3 Tuesday at C200.

Got a good feeling about this one, as long as Fortin starts.
5-3 Eagles.

Patrick McNeil ?@cbse_pbp 56s Hache is in hospital since last night, health is not in jeopardy. Farrell has an upper body injury, will be out for a few weeks.
That tweet does not sounds promising.

Well that will likely be the end of our playoffs, not that we had a great chance anyway. Bureau also starting tonight. Get well soon Hache/Farrell.

So Bureau again tonight Huh! well at least he is doing better than last night that's a good thing, but that clearly to me is the writing on the wall for Fortin. To bad as he clearly has not been given a fair chance in QMJHL to date when you look at what he has accomplished in the 2 years that he is in the league. I'm wondering what the kids problem is as his efforts on the ice seem to be good does it have to something to with off the ice ?

Got fairly dominated that period and only down 2-1.
Gatineau has such an aggressive penalty kill, I think they get more scoring chances than us on our 3 powerplays.

Rough couple of games.
Hoping that they are not ready to give up yet.
Sucks to have Hache and Farrel out.

Nasty results...thought it would be closer (like the first 2 periods of both games), but injuries don't help. I wonder if some of our Gatineau posters can shed light on the goalies. Both seem to have imploded late in both games, with Fortin allowing 4 goals on 9 shots combined (not helping his cause or just no chance/help on them?)
good luck in CB guys

This is the way I saw the game:
The 1st period is all Olympics versus Bureau. The Eagles had no defense, no fore-checking, no offence, just Bureau. The birds of prey were lucky to end the period only down by two.
The 2nd is almost all Cape Breton, no fore checking on the Gatineau side but their defense and goalie held. We had to wait for the midmark before the pics got their 1st shot on net: a goal. That was the goal that broke the fowl’s back. Your team is working hard and getting the better chances and bang; they score and you’re down one more.
The game pretty much ended there, so far the Cape Bretoners appear to abandon when down by 3 or more, no come-back feel. Not an Olympic philosophy.
The 3rd was a no brainer; there was only one team on the ice. Bureau was surely not to blame for this one; he was left to himself for almost two periods. They pulled him only to give him a rest, the game was lost.
Let’s now see how the pics’ do on the road. The Olympiques are probably the worst team to play against in the series, year after year. They will push to the very end and beyond, even when you think they are down and out, they come back flying like bats out of hell. They never, never quit. The team that beats us in a four out of seven is going to the memorial, it’s them or us.
