Well it's gameday. A little over 10 hours until puck drop. It's a shame that there probably won't be a big crowd for tonight's game. I find this team MUCH more enjoyable than the "stacked" team we had last season that flamed out. We're already guaranteed to have more home playoff games than last year too. Everyone should come out to support this young team.
This team will be even younger over the next two games with Chris Caissy being suspended. The Armada blueline also takes a hit for tonight's game as Daniel Walcott was suspended for 1 game.
Notes -
Moncton is 3-for-12 (25 per cent), and Blainville-Boisbriand is 4-for-10 (40 per cent) on the power play in this series.
Barbashev leads Moncton in this series with five points, including two goals. Vladimir Tkachev has two goals and one assist, Christopher Caissy has one goal and two assists, and Jacob Sweeney has three assists.
Goaltenders Alex Dubeau of the Wildcats and Etienne Marcoux of the Armada both have a 3.53 goals-against average in this series. Dubeau, who faced 46 shots in Game 2, has an .886 save percentage compared to .843 for Marcoux.
Ryan Tesink leads Blainville-Boisbriand with four points, including two goals. Nikita Jevpalovs has three goals. Frederic Bergeron and Christopher Clapperton both have three assists.

Some stats that don't really mean anything for tonight but are interesting - Cats are 9-17 all-time in Game 3's. 5-7 at home and 3-3 at home when the series is tied 1-1. They've lost five Game 3's in a row, with the last win coming against Rouyn in the 2nd round in 2010.
Who takes Caissy's spot on the top line tonight? I'd be inclined to put Will Smith up there. He's a good skater and can keep up with Barbashev and Tkachev. Or potentially you put Johnson on the wing on that line and have Pugsley/Bower centering the 3rd and 4th lines. It's a big blow though. I really like our top 6 with everyone in the line-up, but this leaves a pretty big hole.

I'm going to say 4-3 Cats OT.
Tkachev with a pair.

Jacob didn't seem to be playing 100% with the Flyers. He was usually the first man on his line to sub off. After a grueling 7 game series involving several overtimes I can't see him in tonight's lineup. I think you'll see Halabi draw in.

If he isn't hurting ... we may see him tomorrow night. Of course if we win tonight I think Rumble would stick with the same guys.

Went to Game 7 of the Midget game yesterday and I would have to say I didn't notice Jacob that much. Not as much as I expected to notice him after what I saw in his last game with the Cats. I'd definitely say give the kid a rest. I doubt we see him this round unless there's further absences from the line-up.

Right now, for these playoffs, I would rather see Alex Bradley than Alex Jacob ... obviously Jacob is more of a prospect long term, but Bradley is more ready to contribute now.

As much as this sucks and hurts to say, I find myself pulling for the Cats in this one. lol Must be getting old, or just pro-Maritimes

They played a little bit better the second period but they will have to kick it up another notch further if they hope to make a comeback and win the game.
