Can;t see them giving up on Bureau .....some people might think that is crazy but I think he gets next year to prove he is a # 1 in this League . I hope not but since his dad is a scout I can see it happening. I don't know what it is with him, once he lets in one goal the flood gates open and they just start scoring on nearly every shot.

George Davis would have made sure Dunn never did half the stuff in the Series that he pulled off . George Davis would have been planted to the bench unless the other team had a goon to tangle with him. Funny how some of you think guys like him saved the teams they played on when most of the bad on ice incidents and brawls in Eagles history happened during that time period. The game has changed now.

Paulyboy your a god damn idiot. Plain and simple. Were early in a rebuild and we "need" all of those things you mentioned? NO SHIT! If we had all of that, we'd be challenging the top 4 teams. Your a god damn moron.. Its called a rebuild for a reason.
If you think this season was such a bust, your crazy. Dumont turned this team around. It's not going to happen over night.
Gatineau is a very good 8th seed. It will be interesting to see how they match up against a top tier team.
And I have to mention, its pretty nice to have a coach that does not make excuses for the performance and just tells it how it is. Its pretty refreshing.
Turn our heads to the draft/trade period, improve, and hope darcy/hache returns!

WE NEED A GODDAMN ENFORCER! Nobody would be running and beating up the goalie if we had a dedicated, great and intimidating enforcer. Even somebody like Millman would be good. Do any of you understand that the enforcer you all want simply does not exist in this league now? Team toughness in the way the team plays and stands up for each other goes 100X further then 1 guy who can't skate but can KO someone with 1 punch. Those players historically do nothing to prevent beatings like this. This was 1 team out-classing another in every area.

Best of luck to the Piques in round 2. piccasocat and stooo - thanks for being good sports and not bragging this up to much. Do not shy away from this board in the future whenever you feel like contributing to the discussion. Thank you looneytunes. Like hal said, I dont think anyone expected a 4 game blowout, especially not the Pics or the Pics fans. Now, we will likely play Baie-Comeau or Halifax, another 2-3-2. Who really wants to play the Olympiques, anyone? I hope I can say in about a month that you guys lost against the best.

Should have cut the cord in January when he still had some value. After this performance he almost has to be moved now due to the role his dad has with the team in my opinion.

Good Luck to our two 20 year olds in their Hockey Futures . Jeremey Beaudry was an Offensive force throughout the whole regular season and Steven Woodworth will be remembered just as much for what he did off the ice as much as he did on the ice .

We will bounce back now that our management has a plan. Even though some here refuse to admit it the future is very brighter in Cape Breton then it's been for a very long time. Good luck in round 2.

Yes, for certain teams those players can be buried due to depth and fill a role. But do you honestly think Vuic's presence protects Drouin in any way because at this level and at this time of year I think it's obvious the goon role simply gets lost in the shuffle due to the talent level of the teams remaining after round 1. What role does Vuic play on this years Eagles team? Id like Lyle and Lindsay and the elements they bring on the bottom 6 of this team then a Vuic any day.

This is a passing of the guard in a way on the blueline. Could have been the last junior game for our 3 veterans in Beaudry, Woodworth and Hache.

I think Dunn is less likely to run a goalie whom plays on a team with Vuic, yes. Vuic has been, many times this year, a sheriff. Not only does he fight, but he calms the game down as well. Regardless, I'd much rather Vuic go after a player who ran Drouin than someone like Weegar or Ashley. I like Vuic on the Mooseheads and I think the Eagles would benefit from a Vuic-type player next season.

In many ways is was a very 'kick-in-the-groin' way to end the season.
In others it may be a good sign to the management and ownership of this team that the rebuilding of this franchise is still in it's early steps.
I can't sit here and criticize attendance because I would be a hypocrite because due to my job and situation I didn't get to see this team nearly as much as I would have liked. But I hope the 4000 or so paid customers over 2 games is a sign that the fans here are simply sick of the losing culture even if the future looks very bright because after a series like this the future seems very far away.
But the great thing is the future is very bright and as early as next season we should be a team coming in with the expectation of playing into April and having the assets to potentially make a lot of noise in the trade market.
Like most areas right now, losing isn't going to fly. Look at the attendance in some of the barns where the blowouts have taken place over the last few days and you'll see a region of hockey fans unwilling to support a non-contender. This playoff format is not helping and I think a radical change to improve quality is needed because as time goes on you are seeing that the 2500-3000 people attending 2 games isn't worth it when you add in the travel for the other games and the taste left in the fans mouth after watching their team get absolutely slaughtered.
Hopefully tonight was the turning point in that cycle for this organization and a couple of others in the Maritimes.

Now put a top 6 forward out there who can compete physically and Dunn could be neutralized but a goon on the bench does not help a young team gain any balls for the other 19 players dressed that game. It's a team mentality and if you need to rely on 1 player who otherwise is a non factor to police that game then it's 1 you have likely already lost.
