If Caissie got 2 for his hit ... that was at least 2. That's worse than the Caissie hit if you ask me. Plus Tesink got himself suspended in last year's playoffs too. I'd give him 5 but he'll probably get 2 with BLB getting a 6 round pick from SJ for not disclosing that he likes to hit from behind. lol Thats much worse than Caissie hit IMO. That was violent, from behind and into the boards.

I think it deserves 3/4 games and that's being somewhat conservative.
It's really hard to guess due to the inconsistency from the league with suspensions.

That was an awful hit... no idea how you can do that to someone there. Should be sizeable suspension. That hit could have done serious head/neck damage (did it? No idea) He was down for awhile but skated off with assistance .... never returned to the game.

That is exactly the hit they have been trying to get out of hockey. Defenseless player with his back to the forechecker getting drilled from the back with both numbers showing. It could be nothing but deliberate. It has to be a more than two games.

So Tesink should not get less than 2 games .... and probably more.

As for tonights effort - much better than previous two home games. If there is any consolation at least our record will be better than last year with the so called better team(on paper) against a weaker opponent. Still going with BBL in six.............

I'll say 4 games for Tesink. Won't be shocked if it's 1 or 2 though.
If that was the final home game of the year it was a hell of a good one. Smallest crowd I can remember for a Cats game, but everyone was into it and it was a pretty fun atmosphere. Obviously the awful start time played a big role in the attendance.
Barbashev was an absolute beast tonight. Best player almost every time he stepped on the ice. I'm also pretty sure he was playing hurt for half the game. Seemed to hurt his arm or wrist in the second period. I seriously hope Tkachev is back next year because I can only imagine the damage he and Barbashev could do over a full season.
Speaking of draft eligible players...Sweeney is having an unbelievable series. Must be playing close to 35-40 minutes a game. I would love to see an NHL team take him in the later rounds.
Second BB goal was just plain awful, but credit to Dubeau for bouncing back and shutting the door the rest of the way. Shows the difference between him this year and last year.
Oh and speaking of last year...this year's team has more playoff wins. Very fitting. I won't complain if they want to add to that total as well.

But he did clearly aggravate it last night. Sweeney has been great all series ... great game last night ... eating up big minutes. Some fans don't like him because he makes mistakes ... but that is bound to happen playing all those minutes against top lines. Everybody makes mistakes. He should be one of the top Dmen in the Q next year at 19.

Also of note and further to the above, other play-off teams in our Maritime Division(outside of Halifax) went down on 4 straight games 1st round - surprised by CB though. We are still in and that isn't bad for a team slated to be at the bottom three league this year. IMHO, there was much positive about this year and much to build on for the next few years with the fine coaching and nucleus of quality players...... Another year as a Seasons ticket holder money well spent. Looking forward to the 11th year coming up.

BLB is getting more beatable as it goes on. They are probably without Tesink for sure and looks like their captain left with a shoulder injury. Did he return after at all? 2 huge losses for them

I thought it was Martel, but could have sworn there was a C on his jersey......I thought Picard was their captain.....maybe I just imagined the letter. Either way, he and Tesink are their top 2 goal scorers.....with them gone, I think the series turn hugely in Moncton's favour.

Wow... even if BLB can hold on for the series win, they are toast in round 2, especially if Tesink gets something like 4 games.

Great job by the Wildcats. Last year's team would have folded like a cheap tent after Armada tied the game on a weak/fluky goal but this year's team showed great character to battle back.
The hit was really bad, I can hope Tesink gets suspended but my real concern is Holwell's health. He's been the best 16 year old d-man I've seen since Gormley's rookie season and it would be a shame for it to end like that. Sometimes you can blame the victim because they have a tendency to turn at the last second but Holwell had his face to the boards the entire play. Just a terrible hit.
Another great game and effort by Barbashev. Amazing re-direct on the first goal and a great effort on his second goal. The refs should have whistled that play dead even if they weren't sure it went in. Everyone stopped playing and then next thing you know Blainville has an odd-man rush. Kinda funny for the call on the ice to be a goal before reviewing it but they kept play going until the next whistle.

Kinda funny for the call on the ice to be a goal before reviewing it but they kept play going until the next whistle. The Ref waved it off when it happened and he apparently (insert sarcasm here) had the best view ... tough for anybody else to whistle it down then. They had to continue playing at that time, but many did stop as you said. After the whistle, the linesman immediately went to the Ref and his body language said he saw it go in ... so the Ref checked with the goal judge who said it went in. So the Ref changed his call on the ice to "goal" because his colleagues out-numbered him ... I guess. In his defense, he was on the boards near to where the shot/chip came from and Marcoux (and likely other players) probably blocked his view of the far post to see the puck actually get in behind it. If he doesn't see it go in then he has to wave it off ... and no whistle should be blown.
