Seems to me that it is time to move away from the Game 4 thread and start obvious discussions on what lies ahead and put them together in their own thread . Instead of over analyzing what happened this past week , lets try to focus on debating the road ahead . Obvious subjects would be : - what you predict will happen at the Q Draft ? - what possible combinations of 20's you see in place , with or without Hache and Darcy turning Pro ? - what 19 year old's might get squeezed out or possibly dealt ? - any Coaching shakeups within the Assistants ? - what prospects make the jump to Major Junior ? - gulp....er...ahh..Goaltending Predictions ? - what happens with the 2nd Euro Slot ? - What current Eagles go in the NHL Draft this summer ? - Anything and Everything you feel worth mentioning .......

Inyeresting topics. I think that with the number of picks we have at the draft,Dumont will use some of them and trade others for players(hopefully) defenceman. as far as twenty year ols are concerned, Isee them in this order of importance,Hache,Darcy,Farrell,Legare and Corriveau. As far as the 19 year olds are concerned, I think Dozzi will definitely not be back and Lyle and Beaton might be squeezed out or traded as Ido not see either of them fitting in as a top six forward so they would have to be satisfied playing third or fourth line minutes. As far as coaching changes are concerned, Ithink Kibyuk will return and Izzard is a teacher by profession and his 1 year leave of absence should be up so it will be interesting to see what happens with him. I think Colby Tower should make this team next year and possibly Baillergon and or Dower on defenc e depending on what if any defenceman Dumont might add at the draft. The goaltending situation is wide open especially if the Eagles use their top pick to add a top ranked goaltender (Fitzpatrick). Second Euro slot should be interesting, if the second Euro that we drafted last year does not report Dumont could look at adding a defenceman. Draftwise, I think Bishop will go either 2nd or third round and Pelletier may go as well only later. In any event, whatever is done has to be done with the thought in mind to improve defensively and cut down on the goals against. Note of interest, we scored more goals this year than the first place team, but we were second last in goals against. Rocket science, not.

I would like to see us use our 5th overall on Fitzpatrick is he is available and trade Bureau + some combinations of our other 1st and some 2nds for a good 18/19 year old defenseman.
Optimally our 20s would be Farrel, Darcy, Hache, I can see at least one of Hache/Darcy coming back next year and if that is the case than Farrel, Legare, Darcy/Hache.
Colby Tower will likely make the team next year.
I would be happy with a goaltending combination of Fortin/Fitzpatrick next season.
I think the best case euro scenario would be to have Evgeny Svechnikov report next year, which I think is highly likely. He is very good friends with Lazarev, his NHL Draft year is 2015 and he is a predicted 1st rounder so he might want some more exposure. A line with Lazarev and Svechnikov on it would be deadly.
I think Bishop goes in the 4-5th round, Pelletier in the 5-6th round.

Just to fire a few things out there ......
- What's the possible return on a Legare ? ....on a Corriveau ?
- If Fitzpatrick is as advertised ....he will probably be gone at 5 ....wouldn't he ?

- What's the possible return on a Legare ? ....on a Corriveau ? Just as comparison Matthew Boudreau was traded from Halifax to Shaw for a 1st rounder at the draft. I believe it was part of a previous trade, not sure but he has comparable stats to Legare from there 19 year old seasons. Boudreau then went on to be traded twice in season for a 4th round pick and then a 4th & 9th round pick respectively. So I think you could fetch something as high as a 1st or as low as 3rd. It also depends how the 20 year old markets shapes up around the league.

He may be gone but it really depends, the pick order is: 1st/2nd - Saint John/Sherbrooke 3rd - Shawinigan 4th - Gatineau (via Charlottetown) Saint John/Sherbrooke - I don't really see many teams picking a goalie 1st or 2nd overall but it is possible. Shawinigan/Gatineau - Kind of a toss up here, depends who they are really going after, most Quebec teams value quebec kids over maritimes players so we have that going for us. It also helps us that in this: www.hockeyprospect.com/qmjhl-draft-top-100-prospects-ranking/ - 3 of this top 6 ranked are Quebec kids. I think it is likely he would be available at 5th overall.

I think our second Euro will report as I recall after Christmas he was looking at coming over but had a contract issue in his league which stopped him from being able to join the team this year.

A bit of a Teaser for you folks ..... Hope he reports. He looks sick. Then we could make a trade for another tough defenseman and not lose anything up front
