if I were ValDor, he would be the first target....probably wouldn't take much to remove him from the series.

there is nothing to bite on.....it was a friggin joke you morons....nothing low or classless about it. Holy crap you guys are thick sometimes. I guess you forgot where I posted earlier that Ashley was my favorite Moose player and I'd like to see him finish his jr career healthy instead of hurt. Get over yourselves.

Is it just me who impressed with Luca Ciampini this play-offs. He seems to be giving abit more effort and things are just working for him. I think he should be on the top line, not that he deserves to be there 100%. But because as of late he can fit there and not look out of place. If you can disperse your stars abit and get away with it you are best to put Luca up to make a second and or 3rd line stronger.

Naw as much fun as it was to make fun of him, he has stepped it up big time. While I'd put Andrews and Meier in the struggling category, he has carried the load. He's a big part of our depth in a full lineup. Andrew Ryan has also stepped up his play IMO. Guys like Andrews, Meier, and Danny Moynihan have to start scoring. We relied on our power-play against Gatineau. We'll need more 2nd/3rd line production against Val d'Or.

You said if you were VD you would target him, and that it wouldn`t take much to knock him out of the series. And despite the smiley face - I still don`t see the joke.

I'm targeting Ashley, Drouin, Gadoury and Ehlers. I'm going to ask my players to hit them hard every chance they get. I'm not going to tell anybody to purposely try to injure another player ... but I want them feeling sore and worn down at the end of each game. It isn't the problem of Durocher if Ashley gets hurt again ... if he is still a bit fragile then he shouldn't be playing. But ... whether or not these players were coming back from injury or not ... that is the way they need to be played. If they are in the game they are fair game. And I'm sure Mantha expects a rough ride as well.

I agree it's not really a joke, that's porky's instant go to reaction when someone says he should be banned. But to be perfectly honest, it's a fact. Teams target players who are coming back from injury in every sport, especially in hockey playoffs. I have no idea how the comment is classless either, as it's a fact. If anyone thinks that teams don't "target" players are the morons (or naive at best), even the Moose do it. It's called gaining an advantage and it's the reason why teams only say "lower or upper" body injury. If I am Val d'Or I am giving extra attention to Ashley, not only due to coming back from injury but also because he is one of the Moose's top players AND he takes a lot of Penalties. Other players I would target with extra attention are Vuic, hoping for a suspension, and of course Drouin, Ehlers and Gadoury. Gadoury and Ehlers in particular because this is their first Q playoffs - see if they hold up...which I think they would. Back to Hockey....Go Stars!

When a guy is coming back from a concussion and somebody says they should target that player because he'd be easily knocked out of the series, there's malicious intent in the statement.
If a goalie is coming back from a groin injury, you might want to try a lot of cross ice one timers, and that's fine. If a player is coming back from a wrist injury, force him to be the shooter. That is strategy and gamesmanship.
The way you target Ashley is trying to get him off his game and getting him to get caught up in the emotion of the game and start taking bad penalties. Not by targeting his head. There's no legal or acceptable way to do that in the game of hockey and I stand by my comment. It's classless.
It's a whole different ballgame with brain injuries and if you do not see that then I don't know what to say.

It's a whole different ballgame with brain injuries and if you do not see that then I don't know what to say. If he can't take a hit or extra attention he shouldn't be on the ice. That is not Val d'OR's problem. All Porky said he would target him and he should be easy to knock out of the game. He didn't say "they should cheap shot him, hit him in the head." As I stated above I would give Ashley more attention, but not just based on comeback from injury (which will cause him to be rusty) - but because Ashley plays on a fine line, and he crosses that line. So you can get him off his game, but to think teams or players will go easy on someone coming back from injury is silly. If he couldn't take the hit or is a high risk to be injured - he shouldn't be on the ice. But that's not the case here. If you are on the ice you are fair game for attention and clean hits. Anyone who calls his comment classless and calls him a moron but loves playoff hockey is living a double standard. We all celebrate the violence and emotion of Playoff hockey. It's brutal, but that's what makes it special, other sports can't match up to it. Back to Hockey now...Go Stars!

Halifax is adding a 1.5pt per game player to the roster and a couple more recent returning players that should have got the rust off. I dont expect to see the same game from VD and Halifax maybe the rougher of the 2.

If Ashley is still a bit fragile then a heavy clean hit along the boards could jar him enough to bring back some of his symptoms ... and in that case he should not play. Nobody will be taking it easy on him because he is just back from a concussion ... but that is what it seems you want. Maybe he should wear a yellow practice jersey so nobody hits him.

Has nothing to do with his injury, but he is more vulnerable as a result though.
