So he's going to remove himself from the series and go home because he's uneasy about taking some legal hits? Give me a break. He was insinuating that someone deliver a check that will re-aggravate the injury he's just coming back from, a concussion. I'm being very sincere here, very serious, look up what concussions are. I was taught what a concussion is when I took a coaching course. You can get a concussion without anything touching your head. Even a clean should to shoulder hit could re-aggravate his injury especially if he's coming back too early(no one knows). No one said anything about removing himself from the series and going home. I was just pointing out that if he's uneasy and scared to hold on to the puck or dig it out of the corners, he's essentially useless. Just lighten up, no one is wishing any harm to any Mooseheads player. You sound like you could use a beer, hit me up and I'll buy you one on the weekend. You seem like a good guy, you're just taking this the wrong way. I'm not all riled up about it lol. Porkchop just never stops with the shit disturbing and I thought this was in particular bad taste. I was just articulating my point. No hard feelings.

There are probably plenty of times to call out Porkchop for his terrible posts that are almost as bad as his favorite teams(Leafs and Titans) but I just don't feel this was one of those times but I'm a bit biased in the situation I suppose now that our teams are matched up in a series.

You should stop - because your post had one Massive misconception (bolded above). How can one get a concussion? - Any hit to the body that causes your brain to move rapidly within its spinal fluid cushion (i.e. whiplash) can cause a concussion. So I can cleanly lay a great open ice hit on you or hit you in your shoulders. If it is hard enough, you can get a concussion. To say concussions or head injuries only come from illegal or hits to the head is wrong.I'll agree with you on this point. You don't necessarily have to impact the head to cause a concussion. It's true. But I think my point is being missed and that is intent. If you don't think it's morally wrong to intentionally target a head injury, with a "clean" hit or not, you and I differ in that respect. To suggest VD to target Ashley because he'd be easy to remove from the series because he's susceptible to another concussion is classless. Period. I don't care what anyone has to say. I have grown up around the game and I know I am not alone in thinking this. FYI, that hit in the video definitely impacts the head. It may not have been the principal point of impact, and that's how the rule is interpreted by the NHL, but there was contact to the head, so it wasn't a great example

Did you guys even read my post? I said targeting injuries is acceptable. It's part of the game. I concede that 100%. But not when it comes to head injuries. How do you 'target' a head injury? It doesn't make sense. Head injuries occur from illegal hits or freak accidents. There is no legal play in today's game that allows you to target the head. That's the point. Suggesting to target a player coming back from concussion, and that he'd be easily knocked out of the series is a classless and ignorant thing to say. Groins, wrists, shoulders, etc...they heal. They may end a players career, which is truly unfortunate. But with head injuries you're talking a whole different animal. This can affect a player for the rest of his life. It can alter neuro-pathways and cause unknown changes in behavior, depression and ultimately destroy ones life as they know it. Do you guys even pay attention to the seriousness of concussions? I know Porkchop was kidding but it was in bad taste, and all he does here is stir the pot at any opportunity with obviously very few limits. I think he should be banned. That's my opinion. As for the banning comment - if we banned people we disagreed with or didn't like we wouldn't have a board left. How about the poster who called Porky an Asshole, he should be banned as well. This off-season people have asked for a pile of people to be banned (including Pens for imitating a Val d'Or fan). Some people need to step back and relax and not to take everything so serious...It's a game after all. This hit in the NHL resulted in a concussion, but the league said it was clean - and this video shows other clean examples that can lead to injuries. link (incase embed player won't work) - End Rant, now back to Hockey. Go Stars! Yes, heaven forbid if some out of towner assholes were banned. Moose Talk would never function properly without them

The video I posted was perfect to combat your logic.

And can someone explain to me what an out of towner is on a Q league board? Someone from Ontario? To be

I just watched a clip on TSN about this same thing pretty much.......talking about the Chicago/St. Louis series.....Backes has a bad ankle or something....they said it might not be the most sportsman thing to do, but the opponent had to exploit that injury...they mentioned a few extra slashes to that area, after all it is the playoffs and they would have to suck it up and play through it.

Exactly. That wouldn't be very sportsmanlike. But it's a part of the game. However, nobody would talk about punching a guy in the head that just came back from a concussion

But if Ashley punches somebody else in the head as he so often does ... its open season on his head.

Pretty sad Moosetalk impacts them in this way!
