People here are quick to cast off a guy like Porier, who's one of the 5 best players in the league. Remember Frk? Abid? Sometimes you just live with the bad, because that edge is what makes them effective way more often than it hurts the team. The question is. how effective has he been in this series so far?

High praise given to Weegar and Ehlers from Florida Panthers GM Dale Tallon:
John Moore ?@rinkrant Tallon on Weegar "Sometimes he tries to do to much, but he's going to be great QB for us on PP. We have worst PP in league. He's our guy."
John Moore ?@rinkrant Tallon on Ehlers "great entertainment value, explosive & not afraid to go in tall trees. Don't think there is a better skater in draft."
John Moore ?@rinkrant Asked if @flapanthers would take Ehlers in top 5, Tallon replies "Why not? He reminds me of Patrick Kane & we took a chance with him."
Weegar reminds me of Bondarchuk the way he enters the zone. Sometimes it can result in a turnover, but more often than not he gets the puck deep.

What you saw is typical of Benoit Groulx teams. No discipline, lack of full effort, bad power play. To me and some others, yes it is frustrating. Congrats to your boys, my hope is to see them play 3 games, not just 2, in our building. Poirier shows up about half the time. Dunn is effective if he sticks to hockey. Reway is talented and completely selfish. Benoit Groulx is in my opinion drastically over-rated. I have to agree with true Olympiques' fans who believe that you're a clown.

It's somewhat ironic the way the first two games have played themselves out. Halifax had the easy 68 game ride in a weak division, while Gatineau had a rougher go of it. But Gatineau seems to be getting frustrated playing stronger competition, while the Moose are composed and playing a tight defensive structure... and cashing in on power-play opportunities. The two teams look even 5 on 5. But Halifax just has to play a defensive game and wait for their chances if the Olympiques continue the parade to the penalty box.

This series has been pretty cut and dry so far. If you're going to act like a bunch of idiots and take stupid penalties against the mooseheads, you're going to lose. The mooseheads have way to much skill to be giving them power play after power play.
On another note can any of the Gatineau fans explain the bleached hair? When/Why did your guys start doing it. I noticed it last year as well.

The hair has been a tradition for a long time. Lots of teams do it, sometimes different colours.
As for the penalties, as I say, it has been going on all season, and with Groulx teams in the past year after year.

Re Olympique playoff tradition- I didn't watch either of the games in Hull last year but is their still a fan who dresses up as a ghost who stands behind the opposing goalie at the Bob?

Does anyone else think that Gatineau was trying to get Fucale off his game. They seemed to be in his face all night. He even got knocked down at one point and they got him with a slashing call. Our guys have to be very protective of that happening, but be careful not to draw any penalties. If Gatineau wants to do that hopefully they will get some penalty calls.

Pepin has done nothing. Karabacek has looked decent, but like most Gatineau forwards, hasn't done a whole lot.
