He was 3rd liner on the Flyers ... I think your expectations are way off. He was 5th in scoring with 45 points in 35 games(2nd in goals with 26) with the Flyers at 16, 3rd in playoff scoring. Telus Cup he led the team in scoring. You forgot to add ... in the NB-PEI league. How many guys in that league that were 5th in scoring on their team go onto to offensive careers in the Q ?

Telus Cup he led the team in scoring. I think expectation wise, he is maybe slightly behind, but only in the sense of where they drafted him. IMO, if you are going to spend a 4th round pick on a 2nd year draft eligible player, you expect to be able to plug and play as a rookie. If Johnson would have had the same season he just had as a 17 year old, I would be very pleased. At this point, he seems to project as a good third liner as a 19 y/o next season - which is OK, bu a bit disappointing if your 4th round picks top out as third liners.

by the same token alot of 4th round picks never make a name for themselves at all
