Did he deserve a 5min major? Likely not lol...ridiculous call. But still, he just can't be putting himself, and more importantly, the team, in that position. No need to fight 5mins into the game. Just play hockey and be physical presence. Looked to me like Sheppard wouldn't let go of Vuic's jersey when the linesmen were trying to break them up, so Vuic went back after him. Weak call IMO. Yeah I think 1 for 1, we happily take Sheppard off the ice. It was a clean square off, I think Sheppard even shoved Vuic asking for it. It looked to me that once Sheppard went down, Vuic kept trying to get up off the pile and was being held down. Maybe I couldn't see what was really happening. Not a great period, but we spent a lot of time SH and its 0-0. What drives me crazy about guys like Dunn is the refs let them aggressively go into scrums and practically head butt guys getting in their face, endless little body shots etc, and only call a penalty when someone responds to it. Not to mention every Gatineau hitter seems to LEAP into every hit. Frustrating team to play against for sure. We need to be sharper next period, and hopefully we get some PP's of our own.

Vuic deserved what he got. He started a second fight after the first one ended. Overall, terrible, sloppy hockey by both clubs. With who?

Welp, didn't like that period. We're being sucked into a game we do not want to play. Could've been another penalty at the end of the period when Weegar hit Boucier from behind. Say what you want about the reffing... we shouldn't be putting ourselves in a position to get one. Just don't retaliate. Yea agree, we are getting sucked into that type of game. Refs are usually a factor, everybody knows that, it's not a surprise. We just gotta deal with it and play. I actually thought some calls here in Halifax were suspect too, so I'm not being bias. The theme of my post....Q officiating is horrible.

Karabacek took a roughing penalty to end the period, so the penalty to Lussier is cancelled out.
Need to come up big this period. I remember game 4 against Baie-Comeau last year when they had just won game 3 and were up 2-0 after the 1st. Halifax came out with their most dominant period of the playoffs in the 2nd. Need to put a little doubt in Gatineau's minds here.

In their rink, they seem to have way more leeway to run around at the opposition. Its the opposite of the games in Halifax in that Gatineau played this way and the refs called it, but up there they play that way and pretty much everything is ok. You mention the Weegar hit (which looked like a bad embellish to me), but then Pepin turns and goes and gives him a good shot in retaliation. No call of course, but whenever we react, its insta-call. Lussier seemed really pissed about the call against him for what I think was a similar thing. We need to grit it out - so far they are doing an ok job defensively - and score on our limited chances. Its going to be a battle every shift. This is why I would have much preferred RN lol. Our lack of quality depth comes out a bit when playing a team this aggressive and fast. A win here to go up 3-1 would be much appreciated by me

before my rant............thank you Eastlink, their coverage of the Moose in the playoffs is a big part of why we are loyal eastlink customers.
Good thing that Gatineau's powerplay sucks so bad cause the fucking reffs are typical Q reffs, they do not know what to call. Hit on Ehlers was bad, Lussier getting the only penalty on that scrum after the guy hauled Andrews down.
I just looked and the reffs did call a penalty at 20 mins on Gatineau.
Gatineau are diving like soccer players but for the most part the reffs arn't buying it.
I don't think Vuic deserved 5 but it was not bright on his part to get in a fight that early.
Zach has been unbelievable so we are still in it.
I think we weathered a big storm in the first so may be a good thing.
Listening to Cecil on the intermission show. He is harder on the reffs then I am LOL.

So we have to be ready for the inevitible "different" reffing.

Gatineau missed on their opportunities, Moose aren't. What a pass by Drouin.

Used to find it funny how everytime Moore went to a break, he would come back and someone would have scored. Thought it was in a small time period. But I see his ads usually play through what seems like 2 minutes of game time lol.

Timo has really learned how to use his size and strength in this league. Should be a force the next few years.

Timo has really learned how to use his size and strength in this league. Should be a force the next few years. Agreed. He isn't putting up the points I might have liked. But he's learning what it takes to score at this level. I like watching Shewfelt whenever he's out there. I was hoping he would turn into a Ryan Falkenham for us, but he's just a little easy to knock off the puck. He'll be an important player for us next year.

Ugh... ice long, low % pass up the wing that our defenseman JUST missed picking off, right to Poirer for the breakaway.
Are the eastlink feeds their own camera's, or calling the game over a Quebec feed? Are there replays?
