Something interesting happened this weekend that went some what un noticed. Mike O'leary has sign a letter of commitment to Cornell this weekend. I wonder if this is smoke and mirrors to end up with a team he wants instead of any old team. He probably would have been a top 10 pick if he didn't sign. I'm willing to say he still gets picked but maybe in the 4 or 5 round though. Mike O'Leary stats www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=195036I've heard a rumour that he has a very short list of teams that he will report to if he was coming to the Q and the commitment might be to show his intentions to go the college route if he is drafted by one of the teams he doesn't want. I assume it is similar to Booth last year where the threat to not come is especially real since he went to prep down in the states. I'm not saying that he won't end up at Cornell but just that I'm sure there are a few teams that could convince him to report. I still see him going in the top 3 rounds since one of the big teams will take a flyer on him even if he says he wants to go the college route.

Last years stats weren't that great. Anybody know what type of player he is? Is he similar to Crossley?

Probably have to wait until late next week. I don't expect Cam Russell to much of anything anyway.

Could be that we're not doing anything, could be that Cam is quite tight-lipped about it. Still, anxious week trying to figure out what this team may look like next season.

It's a wait and see game. Basically what can be said has been. Cam will need to move a 20 or 2 hopefully for decent picks. The pick we have we will still be able to get a good player. As for the hoping and wishing to get into the first I just don't see it happening. Also I don't see use getting a goalie with our first pick. I strongly see us picking one of Crossley, or O'Leary if still there at 21. Fucale is stay put for now same with Gadoury. It will come down to Ryan or Caimpini getting traded. That is basically all there is to look forward to from a Moose fan aspect.
Now as for other Atlantic division stand point I say get your popcorn ready. CB and PEI are making moves that could put them in a position that could contend. SJ is looking to tweak and work towards the 2017 season. Moncton is still in somewhat of limbo area after trying to go for it in 12-13. This will be a very busy few days for sure. Sadly don't look for much to happen here. If I were a betting man I would say the over under on Moose moves I'd say under 3 for sure. I'm think 2 max.

He is obviously hearing things. Do u think Chad Krys will fall? Is there any risk of him not reporting? Haven't heard if he is playing the NCAA card. I am sure the Remparts would draft him if they have the chance. If for any reason he fell to the Moose, should we take another one of our gambles on him if he is going the NCAA route?

He won't be picked for a long long time. He is committed to the USDP. I doubt Quebec will even take him they have a lot of holes to fill to take a chance on an unknown. Dude you need to clam down and stop scratching and clawing for something.

Haha....yeah I will try to, I just find the conversation interesting and it is fun to speculate about things a little. Lets hope the Moose learned their lesson and won't draft Krys.

Being bored myself I decided to take a look and see who has a stock pile of picks. To my surprise Shawingian has 3 2nd rounders. There last pick number 37 for Ciampini sounds pretty fair to me. They have a boat load of young players and as it stands now only have 2 20s. He'll they have 2 in the 3rd round too. Maybe go for both of those.

I wonder if Ciampini would fit into Shawinigan's plans for this year. Not sure how good they will be or what the expectation levels they have for themselves.

He'd have to beat out one of F-A Bergeron, Sebastien Gauthier or Marvin Cupper. Bergeron wore the "C" last year for the Cats. He'll be a fifth-year member of the team; only remaining member of the Memorial Cup team, I think. I'd be surprised if he doesn't return. Marvin Cupper is one of the most underrated goaltenders in the QMJHL maybe even the CHL. Not sure what his situation is. Does he stay for his final year in Shawinigan? Does he get traded? Or, does he go home and try to crack Eisbaren Berlin (if he's even contractually able to). Storm Phaneuf, 19, backed up Cupper last season. I'm sure the Cataractes will want Cupper back for next season. Gauthier joined the team last year after three years playing junior 'A'. He was originally drafted in the 12th round of the 2011 QMJHL draft by Montreal. Gauthier is their offensive defensmen scoring 21 points in 39 games. He was also the only Cats' defenseman to not have a minus rating. Really no reason for the Cats' to give up on Gauthier. Looks like Shawinigan's overage situation is set for next season. However, it isn't impossible that they'd make room for a player like Ciampini.

Ciampini fits there team better.

He's pretty committed to playing in the US, much like Eichel. Things can change, but up to this point, he's shown little interest in playing in the Q. Louis Leblanc was committed too...until his NHL team told him to pack his bags and play in the CHL. I think anything is possible. Worst decision ever. He likely won't ever be an NHL regular, should have stayed with Harvard and then turned pro after he earned the degree.
