Per Palov.
Gives us what should be an 18yo impact scorer and our 1st impact Euro combo in a long time...maybe even our best duo ever.

Svechkinov and Lazarev on a line would be nasty, they are really good friends and Schechnikov is a projected 1st rounder for next years draft.

He probably won't commit until the NHL draft has passed so he won't fall under the CHL/NHL/AHL agreement. If he is taken in Rd 1 he may play AHL this year or next.

Until I see him wearing an Eagles jersey, I am not allowing myself to get excited.
But wouldn't that be a game changer!

Well he can't play in the AHL this year, his draft year isn't till next year. My guess is he might be looking for a bit more exposure for his draft year and possibly playing his buddy Lazarev.

Jeremy Fraser reported the Eagles would know more on Svechnikov by June, with everything going on today I can hardly wait for the draft.

To add to this nobody is eligible to play in the AHL until they are 20. The only exception is if said player is in the NHL and their team misses the playoffs. They can then be sent down for the AHL playoff run.

It is only players drafted from the CHL that can't play AHL until 20. Bergfors for the Fog Devils was one example. Drafted from Europe and went straight to the AHL at 18.

Right. There is my dumb moment for the day. Stefan Matteau is another example. He's a 94 and played in the AHL this season.
