I think the Maritimes is a 4 horse race this year. Moncton, CB, Charlettown and Halifax should all be competitive.

Yep! Could potentially win the Maritimes Division for the third year in a row depending on some variables (if Svechnikov reports, who replaces Bureau, what Sonier does at the draft etc.). I think enthusiasm might be getting the best of you. It would certainly take over-achievement to win the Division again. Ducharme is capable, but you need to look at what we lost not what we have if your going to make an assessment of how we will fair next year. Moncton and CB, in particular, gave us fits all year, lost very little, and have some high picks. Even PEI gave us a hard time, and they will only be better and they have a boatload of high picks. We lost alot of offense, Drouin is arguably the best offensive talent in the country, and he was in on half of the Moose goals in the games he played. That is significant. Weegar was an absolute force out there and was considered one of the best D in the Q. We lost leadership in Andrews and Ashley(scoring as well). We will only keep 2 of Ryan, Lussier, Hardie and Caimpini. You weaken the Fwds or you weaken the D. Depth will ultimately be our Achilles heel. We essentially could ice 2 scoring lines last year, that will not be the case this year, and Gadoury and Elhers will be targets on a 1 line team (1 line in terms of scoring). On D, too many holes to fill, too much inexperience. I look forward to the development of younger players and will temper my expectations. I don't expect them to win the division, I expects the Eagles to for what it's worth. But the Mooseheads do have a chance. They have the top skater and goaltender in the division and an OK defensive core. I don't think it would be shocking if the Mooseheads won the division.

I'm not too concerned about winning this year. I'm looking forward to a fun team that can hopefully pull off some upsets against top teams. What I want from this year is to establish a youth movement. Hopefully we have a good draft and can put some kids into the lineup.

Could Andrew Ryan garner a 1st round draft pick. How is Charlottetown doing for 20's? Looking at their 3 first rounders. Hmmmm.
Edit..I guess this maybe should be in the draft thread.

Charlottetown only has one first rounder left we sent a first to Rimouski for Ryan Mackinnon and first to SJ for Oliver Cooper. Also our 20s are set with Ryan Mackinnon,Ross Johnston and one of Spenser Cobold or Anthony Cortese.

Once the QMJHL playoffs hit, I was as hardcore into as the next poster on this forum.

Hearing Ciampini will be dealt to a Quebec based team for a future draft pick. So, let's put that in perspective. Firstly, 20 year olds are rarely traded for players, so it's all but a guarantee that a pick would be coming back, and since all upcoming picks are "future" picks, that part is a no brainer. Second, since Quebec based teams make up 2/3 of the league, the overwhelming odds are that a Quebec team would be the destination. Third, it's no secret that Ciampini is not in the team's plans for next year, and he has marketable value, meaning he will definitely garner interest around the league, and be dealt. So, adding all of these things up, your source isn't exactly going out on a limb. It's akin to predicting the sun will come up tomorrow.
