I just hope Moosehead fans will realize now that he wont be a part of the team, that he wasn't a good player. I don't think that is fair. In retrospect was he a player who should have been drafter second overall. The answer is no. However: -averaging .71 points per game over 4 seasons, with over a point per game in 12/13 -averaging .54 points per game in the playoffs,.81 this year Was he a good player, I think he was. He overcame his lack of skating skills and used what he had to the best of his ability. I do not want to open up a Luca debate here, but I personally enjoyed what he brought to the team. I wish Luca well in Baie Comeau. He leaves here with a Memorial Cup ring so good on him.

The happiness of him not being there. Until the draft, when we can post about other players who are taking his spot.

He's an above average Q player, who should play 4 years university (and be an impact player) and get an education from playing hockey. The fact that he didn't live up to the potential of his draft selection is what is throwing off people's perception.

The Mooseheads did about as good as they could for a return on Ciampini. I don't know what the offers were for him, considering that he wasn't going to be in the team's plans for next season. As we all know, and has been said here already, he did get a lot of criticism, some of it was his fault, some of it not. He was the 2nd overall pick in what turned out to be a horrible first round that year (2010). He was productive at times (mostly when Frk, MacKinnon, Drouin were away at international tournaments).
I wish him the best in his future.

Until the draft, when we can post about other players who are taking his spot. If he was drafted in Rd 3 ... you wouldn't hate him. But because your GM wasted the 2nd overall pick on him you hate him. Your hatred is misplaced ... your hatred is actually unnecessary because he is just a kid playing hockey ... but it isn't his fault he was taken 2nd overall.

I've said it before but, Ciampini's most recent playoffs was actually pretty good. He was one of the better forwards on our team during that run. Certainly better than Ryan, on some nights he was our second most effective forward. Granted, that's because a lot of attention was being put on Ehlers, Drouin, and Gadoury, but still, he had a pretty solid 2014 playoffs.

Ciampini led the team in +/- in the playoffs and was surprisingly used effectively as a PKer. Didn't see either of those coming.

Blame central scouting for Ciampini. The scouts all collectively thought he was the 2nd best player available, but they were all clearly wrong. Halifax's scouts are no exception. Sometimes a kid just doesn't develop the way you would like. For all the praise a guy like Hudon gets, he had a terrible playoffs. Baie Comeau probably regrets trading for him- now they will be handing over a ton of assets to Chicoutimi, and still have no president's cup.

Fortier is going to be a treat to watch the next few seasons.
A side note I paid for Season tickets today good price if you get them before Friday for returning Season ticket holders.

Constantly ripping a kid for a year and change is an indictment of the person making the criticism, and not the player.
I wish Ciampini the best of luck in BC. He seemed like a solid teammate and a good kid who did his part in the community, and that's really all you can ask of these KIDS at the end of the day.

Fournier went first overall but was rated closer to 10 then 1. The top 3 then were Ciampini, Poulin, and I'm not 100% on this but I think it was Fraser from Val D'or.
