Hope your right, I would rather have Cadorette You do know BC are going to still be a good team next year. Not a top team but a good one. This Cadorette pipe dream everyone has is really weird. I wonder where it started from?

I think it's still Brassard from the Remparts and hopefully Fitzpatrick, but not too often does a goalie go in the top 10 in Major Junior so I think it's going to be the best player at 5 Best player available is Dumonts pre draft stance. Under normal circumstances I would agree but this year...... Fitz please “It’s going to be best player available in the first round, without a doubt,” Dumont said. “We’re just going to take the top player on our list. Once we’ve had our first few picks in the draft, then we’ll assess our needs and determine what kind of player we might need or what we might need to adjust in our system.” thechronicleherald.ca/sports/1206976-cb-screaming-eagles-trade-with-phoenix-all-but-official

I mentioned Cadorette multiple times, BC will be still a decent team agreed, however they will be retooling for 2 years time. So I do believe he will be available this season but like you said a pipe dream for now

Going by some of the rumors out there SJ is taking Green #1 and Gatineau loves Fitzpatrick at #4 meaning we would have to move up to get him.
This is setting up to be a wild weekend.

Going off what I heard from a quebec team Q scout, apparently Gatineau will never draft a goalie in the 1st round anymore. Hope hes right.

Question! Are you guys getting Joey Ratelle or not as part of the Carrier deal? I remember hearing that he might become at the draft when the trade went down. Just never heard anymore on it.

you don't know what picks Gatineau will have when it comes down to draft day..... lots of speculation one of those picks might be used in the Karabacek snafoo Let's be honest here it's not speculation, it's wishful think from PEI's fans brought up on there board. That's all it is. There is a difference between the two. you were saying mr know it all?

It was rumored but I read on the quebec board that they don't think hes part of the trade. Guess we'll see Saturday.

Goaltending is a huge concern, but not addressed through the draft - yes, Dumont needs to draft the best goalie available, but there isn't a stud this year that can step in as a 16 yo and make an impact, so he needs to make a trade for a top 18 or 19 year old to play 45 - 50 gms this coming season. Not sure how you can say there isn't a stud this year when Fitzpatrick is one of the best goalie prospects in the Q in a very long time. Here's a Q scouts opinion on him: "All my years scouting in the QMJHL and this guy i would have to say is easily the best goaltender I have watched in over a decade. his size and IQ in the net are just really great to watch, amazing positioning, great rebound control, excellent reflexes, and is a big game goalie who makes amazing saves to keep his team in the game...I personally think this guy could be the best since Roberto Luongo." He also has great size: 191 cm / 6'3" I think that Paulyboy is underrating this goalie big time but I agree with him to an extent. Obtaining a veteran ( which they will likely do ) and slowly edging Fitzpatrick in would be ideal. Also important to note that we did not draft him yet.

Funny thing is, there's a couple other above average goalies in Nova Scotia that most people couldn't even name because Fitzpatrick is so highly touted haha

Been following and reading the board for the last while. Been to busy with work and such to post but here are my thoughts. 1. If Fitzpatrick is available at 5 we need to draft him. 2. Try and move up some more from the rumoured 13 spot and grab the best available forward. (preferably Balmas) 3. Trade some of our seconds and maybe a 1st next year to add depth and experience on the backend. I would try for a 18 or 19 year as we are not "going for it this season." Also question/idea should we start a 2014/2015 trade thread now? Thoughts?
