"Jonathan Deschamps was the captain of Sherbrooke, he's a big defensive defenceman, very, very physical and we had put him on a priority list and when we started discussing with Sherbrooke, they insisted on having our Alex Bureau on the table for Jonathan Deschamps so we felt that giving our number 39 (draft pick) and Alex Bureau was a fair price for us to get an 18-year-old defenceman who was named captain of his team at 17," said Dumont. "I think he's going to bring a good physicality to our defence squad. We already have some offensive defencemen and so having Jonathan there as a defensive physical defenceman is going to be a very good presence." Sullivan of Petit-de-Grat, used to play for the Cape Breton West Islanders of the Nova Scotia EastLink Major Midget Hockey League. Dumont said while it's tough to give up good offensive players, it was an opportunity to keep building the team and strengthen goaltending. "We felt that Raphael Corriveau and Bronson Beaton and Nick Dozzi you know needed better opportunities offensively. The QMJHL draft begins Saturday in Sherbrooke, Que., at 11 a.m. Atlantic time. www.capebretonpost.com/Sports/Hockey/2014-05-30/article-3744966/Plenty-of-off-ice-action-as-QMJHL-trade-period-opens/1

Just realized that Drummondville pick we have next year could very well end up being top 5. That's nice.

Win win situation. Will probably be moved for a veteran Dman though.

Cape Breton : 1-1CHI-1DRU-2-2MON-3-3GAT-4-4DRU-5-5QC-6-8-9-9SHA-10-10RN-11-12-13-14
Those are the picks we have to use for assets next year.
I would probably look to trade Chicoutimi and our own 1st before the Drummondville one if we're going to look to add a top 19 year old d-man.

You know every GM will ask for that Drummondville pick first though lol It'd be pretty huge if Dumont could hold on to it.

I heard that O'Leary will report to Eagles tonight FWIW. From someone in the organization? If so that's pretty big for us.
