Looks like he's Shane Corson's son. Hope he's better than Pat Lafontaine's son. Not sure where the Shayne Corson's son thing came from. Shayne Corson is from the Barrie ON area and Noah Corson is from Magog QC. Shayne Corson's son, Dylan, played for Bellevile and Barrie in the OHL. So whether this guy is as good as Pat Lafontaine's son is not really relevant as he does not appear to have an NHL pedigree. www.angelfire.com/ks/ShadowAssasinsX/corson.html www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=304372That's where it came from

I think that data is very suspect. You can see the names of Corson's kids in the link I attached (which granted could also be suspect)but Noah Corson seems to be from Quebec, attends school in Quebec and very much Francophone which despite Shayne Corson's playing time in Montreal I don't think fits his profile. Maybe Neil will enlighten us tomorrow...

Is it suspect when it comes from Corson himself? www.lhjmq.qc.ca/article/sur-les-traces-de-leur-p-reYour link is from an Angelfire site... could have been written before Noah was even born

I find it odd that his brother doesn't have anything on his Twitter account congratulating him on being drafted or no mention of his brother anywhere. Maybe a stray branch on the family tree. Guess we just let this unfold. He never says that he is Shayne Corson's son by the way the Q reporter says that; all that Noah Corson says is that he is as yappy as his father on the ice. Whoever his father might be

I stand corrected, according to Hodge's article tomorrow (posted online now) he is indeed Shayne Corson's son. He lives in Montreal with his mother while his father lives in Barrie. In any event I hope the Cats assessment of him pans out and he has a long career here in Moncton. As for his size he has a few years of growing left. Thanks to everyone for allowing me to boost my post count

Coudn't agree with you more I was just sitting here thinking I am glad they are much more knowledge than me as this seems to have been a strange draft? Corson is coming from LHPS, so there's a chance he didn't get scouted. I don't see the problem with Dupre. Maybe he steals Rioux's spot and you have better goaltending because of it. Maybe he doesn't and you send him to play LHJMAAAQ or Midget and draft another goalie next year to keep your options open. Dupre is just goaltending depth. If we have an injury to one of our goalies ... we have somebody that can step in. Somebody older than 16. Dubeau is #1 this year and Rioux (18) will probably get close to 20 starts. Next year we'll add a new guy to be Rioux's backup. We probably weren't going to find our future #1 with our limited early round picks.

Every year after the draft we go through the same thing - people whining and complaining about who their team picked (this is not just Cats fans), or, alternatively, jumping up and down about how great their draft was. The reality is most of them have seen very few of the players drafted play, and none of them have likely seen enough of all players in the draft to have any type of valid opinion on how they would compare with one another. CSR is far from the bible - sometimes they are right, sometimes they are wrong, just like the teams. No sense getting worked up one way or the other at this point - time will tell.

Has anyone heard anything about whether the players will report or is the team working on them to get them to show? I didn't get to see the paper this morning so maybe Hodge gave some insight into that?

I'm hearing Liam Murphy is reporting which would make sense since we used our 3rd round pick on him.

I'm hearing Liam Murphy is reporting which would make sense since we used our 3rd round pick on him. Luke McInnis has apparently confirmed he will report per Stephane Paquette. Shannon is quoted as saying he expects the majority of the Americans to be in camp. Krys is a longshot ... he is committed to USNTDP for two seasons, so unless he changes his mind or something happens, we won't be seeing him anytime soon. They mentioned hoping that an NHL team might want him to play major junior for a year if he ends up being a high NHL pick ...

Liam Murphy and Luke McInnis were both relatively high picks in the USHL so I thought that they might choose to go there instead or at least cause some problems for the cats. I would assume if they are reporting that they would get a spot on the team since I don't think kids with other high quality options would bother showing up only to be cut. Although they might only stay for the 48 hours or pay their own way.

Chad Krys' chances of ever reporting here are probably 5% of less , but if it did happen that's a huge homerun for the Wildcats. Well worth gambling a 7th on. You never know what can happen. Might have a falling out where he's playing or he gets drafted by an NHL team that pushes him toward major junior.

The odds of getting a player in the 7th round who becomes an impact player are not great ... I have no problem with swinging for the fences ... If Krys ever wants to play major junior we have a major asset - either for our team, or via trade to whatever team happens to be a contender when he is 18 or 19 years old and decides to report.
