Looks like a pretty solid team, lots of variables yet to be determined, the biggest of which is whether Hache and or Darcy will return. If either or both return, the eagles can either keep them and move some other pieces or move both for other assetts. Another variable is who, if any, of the drafted American players will show, I see Winkler, Widmar and Beaudion are still on the protected list. Another variable is what, if any, free agents Dumont might be looking at.Lst year we brought in three from Ontario and although for the most part, they were a dissappointment, we have had success in previous years with FAS. The other variable is what trades might be made during training camp.Should make for an interesting training camp.

theqnews.net/The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles confirmed....that Xavier Beaudry-Ouellet will be the first invited player to the team’s training camp. Beaudry-Ouellet is the brother of former Screaming Eagle defenceman Jérémy Beaudry.

He's never even had an 'A' though I would go with the five year vet. Deschamps wore the "C" at 17, there must be some pretty strong leadership skill in our new D man. Nothing against Bishop

Best thing for the Eagles is for someone to draft Darcy. If that happens, they would almost certainly send him back to buy them a year, so they can further evaluate him and decide on offering him an ELC. If he remains a FA, then one strong training camp somewhere could get him a deal. The defence doesnt look very good. Potential yes, but young and inexprienced. But you have a talented goalie with something to prove who can potentially hide some flaws there. You have enough 1sts and 2nds going into next year that you can add a top pairing D and still be fine after this year. I would be surprised if the Eagles are anything but serious buyers this winter. Im not sure if I would put you ahead of Moncton or Charlottetown right now, but you have much more in the way of assets to use in the trade market. If Darcy is back, I think the Eagles are a top 9 forward (not neccesarily top 6) and a #1 defenceman away from a legit top 4 team. We have had a lot of good 19 year olds that went undrafted . I think there is a very good chance that he s back . In fact there is a 62.5 % chance that he returns .
