Darcy just got drafted by Tampa Bay so he'll probably be in Norfolk next season. Darcy getting drafted is a good thing for CB. He can't just go anywhere he wants now, to anybody with an opening. He has to sign an ELC as a drafted player, so there's a very good chance Tampa won't be in a rush to sign him, and they'll return him to junior. He's their property. They're in no big rush. If he goes to camp and really impresses, they might sign him. Odds are though, a guy with 1 year old Major Junior and zero NHL camps may be in for a shock.

Agree wholeheartedly with Murph on this one, this is probably a good thing for the Eagles as Darcy is now restricted to where he can go and unless he really impresses in camp, one good year of Major Junior does not automatically translate into a contract. Not wishing Darcy any bad luck, but I think his chances of returning to Junior just increased. The only other variable that might influence this process is how deep is Tampa at the forward position. Would create an interesting scenario for Dumont if he returns, my guess is that either Legare or the 20 year old goaltender Brassard might be gone. Iknow we just acquired, but with the carousel of goaltenders we have gone through the last couple of years, anything is possible.

They would not get rid of a Goalie they just traded for, Farrell may also be out of the mix. Who knows

Probably a good thing for CB that Darcy got drafted.... but Tampa did just dump a bunch of contracts for nothing over the weekend... opening up room for someone

I believe we will be getting another Dman in the next trade Window, we have the assets so I figure one of those firsts will be gone. Better to do it now rather than the Xmas trade period

Would be way cheaper to get one before the bidding war at Christmas begins as well. Makes sense.

I think Dubois will be on this team, possibly Oleary(if he reports) and possibly Corbeil on the back end. Other than that unless someone really shines at camp, it looks pretty tough for some of the others to make it. I think that some of the 19 year old forwards might be pushed to keep a spot (Lyle and Brunelle) with some of the talent we have coming. I think Dillon Boucher as a 17 year old wil have a chance and Dumont as we know is quite high on Colby Tower, also a 17 year old who impressed at the camp last year.

I would add Colby Muise to this list. I have heard that he was/is very highly ranked by the organization. Since we passed on quite a few goalies I will make an assumption that he was our #2 ranked goalie

Training camp is going to be interesting this year. Not many spots available for younger players but there is always one or two rookies who play their way onto the roster. It will be competitive for sure. Cannot wait till training camp starts. No I do not want to wish the summer away though. For those of you who would say that.

I would expect that Dubois will be on the roster while I would think that any of the second round picks (Corbeil, Beaudin, L'Italien) would have a chance at the very least. To keep in perspective, L'Italien was the latest of those picks at 35th, the same spot Bradley Lalonde was picked the year before. O'Leary will be given a spot if he reports I would think.
But there is always the possibility of a lower round pick surprising and forcing himself on the team. If some of these drafted players impress, I'd say there could be a chance that some veterans get pushed out.

I am sure Dubois will be there up front. They seem pretty full with forwards so I am not sure if there is much room. On the back end I guess one of Corbeil and Beaudin may have a shot depending if Hache comes back or if they make a trade or pick up a free agent. It seems Bell, Lalonde, Leveille, Deschamps and Nosella will be there and Baillargeon, Paul and Dower could be close as well. I guess those are the 3 guys that the two draft picks would have to beat out. We will see at camp.
