Who are some big guns / names to look out for on the Charlottetown roster? Have they made many off season acquisitions / impact rookies or are they mostly returning young talent from last season? Dan Sprong, Mason MacDonald (G), and then Sydney native Mitchell Balmas (top 10 Q pick) are probably 3 guys worth looking out for. I wouldn't even put Balmas in the players to watch for them. Next year maybe but he's only a 16yo rookie. Sprong and Mason for sure. Goulet , Chlapik (Euro), and Cooper up front. Then guys like Hanley and Deschenes on the back end. Maybe there other Euro Rydstorme too. Then Balmas after all them.

Interested to see how Chlapik does, looking at his stats he always seems to be PPG+ in the Czech leagues, think most of how Charlottetown does this year is dependent on their Euros transition.

Also interesting to follow will be the success of the offseason moves made by ourselves and the Islanders.
They picked up a 94 d man in MacKinion, a 95 D in Weber and a 95 forward in Cooper. All players that I am sure we would have had an interest in and could have been the highest bidder for. Plus they picked up another another 95 F in Ross Johnston
The Isles made their moves very quickly costing them 4 1st Rounders plus.
Dumont has taken a more patient approach with the eagles still holding a lot of assets and with little to offer in the 95 age group (actually trading our best 95).
I am thinking we will be behind Charlottetown this year while our 96's use this as a developing year. Next year will be ours. A strong core of 19 year olds is vital for any title run.

Johnston is actually a 94 kid. As for you guys being the highest bidder on them there's no way. They'd be with you guys if that was the case. The differences between the 2 clubs off season move were they need to add a few vets where you guys already has some. Plus the 2 big question marks with Hache and Darcy is a big thing with you guys. If Darcy comes back you guys become scary. Right now your just a very well put together team. As for giving up your best 95 it was actually to help a area of question for you guys. I would make that trade any day of the week. CB is the team to beat in this Division. Look at your top 9 guys now and compare them to any other in the division. Next look at your goals for last year. I know Darcy was a huge part of that but even with out him it's still a good team. If Darcy comes back you guys jump into talks of being the team to beat in the league. All that you need to do is let a lot less go in. Dumont has to implement better defensive systems.

I would be surprised if the Isles can overtake them this year. CB can make moves as season goes on to address whether it is worth trying make waves in playoffs but I think they are totally of mind that next year they will be a top team in CHL/ so not taking many risks with that.

If we drafted Sprong we would not have Leveille or have been able to draft Dubois.
You can then look a step further and say we would not have taken a chance on O'Leary if we did not have two 1sts.
This in turn can turn into yet another first or a great reward for the gamble.

Just ignore it.

Sprong could have been had at the 12 slot ...."without" giving up a 1st ......which they did for Bell . Eaglefan didn't explain that part . .....you still get Leveille .....you still get Dubois . Now Eaglefan will tell you that he would take Bell over Sprong straight up .

It's unlikely that Sprong would have walked into top 6 minutes in CB the way he did in Charlottetown.
It's all hypothetical and we can all make assumptions both ways.

If you had a chance to take Sprong you take him. This is a bold prediction but I think he will be the best player in the division this season. Yes I know Ehlers will be back but Sprong has just been unreal at camp.

CB will probably take the division but it's gonna be tight. The Islanders are not as young as you guys are saying and also they are deeper than you guys are saying also. Our top 9 will be some thing likethis.
Sprong-Goulet-Cooper Johnstone-Chlapik-Kielly Cobbold-Ryndstrom-Kennedy
I know iits might not be as deep as your top 9 but we have Twwo 20 yos 4 18 yos 1 19 and 2 17 yos

Meier wasn't good enough for you last year? 17 goals as a 17yo rookie isn't a good turn out? I think this is a case of over estimating a player.
