There's been a lot of discussion on just how good (or not good) Fucale is. It'll more than likely be repeated over and over again this year as well. I don't know where he'll be in 5 years. All I know is he's somewhere in between Carey Price and Olivier Roy. I hope he can steal some games for us this year.

I hope he is traded between now and January for whatever we can get, which should be a minimum of 2 1st rd picks.

Teams just won't overpay for a goalie at the deadline. If a guy like Cadroette's value is less, teams might just go with him rather than Fucale, because the difference in skill between the two isn't enough to justify paying out the nose. Plus, if teams have the room for a 20yo, there are plenty of options out there (Dubeau, Auger, Whitney, Graham + others I'm sure) that would do decently on a contending team.

That is why I was hoping Russell would do it at the draft or before this trading period ends. Your right about the Xmas deadline, I would think most teams going for it have their goalie in place. Unless of course, and we can only hope, Russell has a deal in place now for a Xmas trade. Maybe that is part of the master plan. In a year like this when we should be re-tooling a bit, having a 19 year old backup to Fucale makes no sense (and Cam brought 2 to this camp). Fucale is gone next year (AHL), so we need to get rookies some ice time, and that won't happen with Fucale playing 55-60 games. A young rookie needs to be splitting time in the Q, not riding the bench. Ideally, Cam finds a suitable 19 year old with a great attitude, willing to give up 20-25 starts to a kid.
