Hard to believe there's no thread yet for tonight's home opener. You can just smell the anticipation in the air. Hasn't been any annoucements about pre-game festivities except Lyndon Slewidge singing the national anthem. I'm most looking forward to Robert Irving's speech to the crowd about how bad he wants a Memorial Cup which will involve unnecessary yelling into the microphone.
Cats will be without Barbashev and Tkachev. Eagles are without Brassard, Bishop, Pelletier and McIntyre.

Should be a 20th year banner too...maybe like the "Ranked #1" one.

I see that Jacob was called up for the weekend. By my count they still have 13 forwards around even with Barbashev & Tkachev gone so I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of that recall is. Is that Cobham guy even around anymore?
According to the T&T the top two lines tonight will be Garland-Askew-Lalonde and Olivier-Johnson-Smith.

I expect the Eagles to ice a line up looking like :
Svechnikov - Farrell - Lazarev Legare - Simard - Dubois Gray - Martineau - Tower Brunelle - Boucher
Leveille - Deschamps Bell - Lalonde Nosella - Paul Beaudin

Am I wrong or we are at the Home Opener and we still don't have a Cats" website that has its 2014 roster posted and many other features probably?

So neither of those OHL guys that came in are on our roster? But they cost Mann and Jacob a spot? Or is site just not updated?

Weird they scratched Cormier and dressed an AF player.
Cats defense looked brutal tonight, no other way to put it.
Not suere what Malatesta was thinking dropping the gloves with Gray, he's lucky not to be eating through a straw..

Ugly from beginning to end.
Malatesta suspended for Sunday's game? Will Cobham be suspended? Will Tibbo get suspended?
Rough 1st game!

Per the score sheet, it looks like all hell broke loose late in the second period. What happened?

When your 4th line centre is your best forward and your three veteran defence men give up the puck for 5 goals it can only get better!!

Per the score sheet, it looks like all hell broke loose late in the second period. What happened? Cobham hit one of their guys high and Brunelle jumped him. Tibbo jumped in and got tossed. Malatesta dropped the gloves with Gray and got pounded.

Ouch! Brunelle and Gray are pretty much the Eagles tough guys. I hope Malatesta is OK ... not smart on his part to tangle with Gray.
If the penalties stand as posted on the Q site. Brunelle will be suspended for the agressor penalty. Tibbo's "abuse of officials" is likely to earn him a few games off. And Cobham's hit to the head, will probably be 1-2 games as well.
It appears from the fines and suspensions sheet on the Q site for the preseason, the second fight for Malatesta and Gray will only be a fine to the teams - possibly $1000 or $4000 each.
