He has lots of experience with that in his stops in Charlottetown, Gatineau and Saint John. .... Kelly Bench If Bent is going to cost us games he should be sitting in the stands.

I was surprised at the speed of most of the rookies and they did a good job on defense. I don't know what Bent will contribute - lots of penalties and no skill.

Bent is a clown, IMO the reason why he got what he did was he got hit right at centre ice and didn't like it the Ref was watching him and he went from centre ice right over on the side boards and nailed him with a full head of steam it looked a lot worse then what it was.
But still he almost cost you guys the game.

These injuries and players being away at NHL camps could be a blessing in disguise from a development standpoint on defense.
We are basically being forced to throw these rookies out there in big situations and so far guys like Cavan Fitzgerald and Morgan Nauss have really showed they can play in this league.
I think we found a diamond in the rough with Nauss especially. He's been impressive and has huge potential in the Q.

I think he should have went higher then a 5th round pick. His size held him back for sure. The way he has played he should have gone in the 2nd round. This is a bit of cart before the horse here but when he is 18, 19yo in this league I see him being top 5 in the league.

Yes, Nauss is looking like a gem for sure. He doesn't have a whole lot of size to him, which probably contributed to his low draft position. But he keeps finding a way to exceed expectations, I really like players like that.
The game against Charlottetown was really fun to watch. I'm cautiously optimistic about this season. I thought the team looked overall better than the night before, especially when it came to generating offence. Obviously, really impressed with the rookies on defense.
Also, I am quite pleased with Vince Watt and Connor Moynihan. Both seem to have taken a step forward from last season, its good to see them being forced to play some bigger minutes and looking good doing it.

Who knows what this season has in store, but one thing we know, is the team will ALWAYS be prepared, and play hard. Dom will get the most out of this team no matter what. The Charlottetown game was a perfect example. Guys out, guys away, but he squeezed everything out of the team for that win. And like he said, they didn't steal the win, they deserved it. He deserves credit in that (as do his assistants).
Nauss has been outstanding so far. I think we need to temper expectation with "he'll be a top 5 dman at 18-19" lol. Maybe, maybe not, but lets hold that for now. He's playing like a 2-3yr vet. Can't ask for much more from a 16yr old 5th rd pick. Def. looking like a steal. But it is only 2 games, so lets chill too haha.

I like how some of the young players have performed however it is essentially exhibition for many of the teams missing top end players. That will perhaps give a different story.

I should make something perfectly clear here. I mean top 5 defensemen in the league not just the Mooseheads. Thanks for clarifying. First reading that I thought "I think he can already play in the top 5". Honestly with Nauss, if we get a guy who can play 20+ minutes a night and play the first PP unit at 18-19, we got more than our moneys worth with him.

Sadly you also never know when a Defenseman is just going to drop off the face of the planet also. Remember Simon Desmarais?
(Heck, if we wanted to we could sign him to fill the 20 year old spot, he's a '94! lol!)
