Cats take this game 5-2. Our first line was dominant. Stephen Johnson was outstanding as well. He made a great play to steal the puck and feed Will Smith for a shorthand goal late in the first. And then had a nice tip off a Sweeney shot to score a power play goal a few seconds after the Sea Dogs had 2 shorthand goals a minute apart in the 3rd. Alex Dubeau also had an excellent game, especially in the second half of the first period. Without a couple of huge stops prior to Smith's goal, it may have been a much different game.

Dubeau definitely bailed out the defense a few times...still looking like the big achilles on the roster.

Defense still not looking great, I thought Smith and Johnston played very well hard on the puck at all times, some of the vets need to follow there example.

Haven't seen it mentioned but Cameron Askew has been given a one-game suspension for slashing in this game.

You may be right Billy but I've heard rumors that Zboril has a concussion so I'd like to think that if you slashed someone hard enough to cause a concussion that it would earn you more than one game for suspension. That alone makes me think the 2 incidents are unrelated, or if related hopefully means the concussion rumor is false.

If the play Zboril got hurt on was the one I am thinking of, it happened in the second period. It looked to me like he was favouring his leg/ankle as he skated off the ice. I could be way off on this though.

Wildcats are saying Tesink is eligible to play Sunday after serving his 5 game suspension. Obviously Friday is game 3 for the aeason and so they are counting the final 2 exhibition games in his suspension. What are the bets on them miscalculating and us getting fined for an ineligible player on Sunday ?
Serving a suspension in pre-season seems useless to me. A player can sit out in pre-season anyway to make room for others to play.

I'm pretty sure that suspensions handed out in pre-season start in the regular season.
I remember a press release from the league a couple of years ago involving a Lewiston player who got a 3-4 game suspension early in pre-season specifically state it started in regular season.
Is the Moncton twitter actually handled by someone who works for the team or someone on behalf of the team like for example Charlottetown?

No idea.
But on the other hand ... and I agree with you .... if a guy has a suspendable incident in game 3 of pre-season and his team has 4 games left ... and he receives a 2 game suspension ... should he be able to play pre-season or not ?

Well, and this is only opinion, pre-season isn't really worth anything so allowing them to play I don't have an issue with just start suspension in meaningful games so guys know they will be held accountable. I would love a definitive answer off the league though on exactly what rule is but doubt they'd give one!
