The Mooseheads home opener and the first ever QMJHL Regular Season game at the Scotiabank Centre! Moncton Wildcats (1-1-0)Christophe Lalonde - 1G 3A 4P Will Smith - 2G 1A 3P Conor Garland - 1G 2A 3P Jacob Sweeney - 0G 3A 3P Alex Dubeau 4.00 GAA .873% NHL Camp Players : Ivan Barbashev and Vladmir Tkachev Halifax Mooseheads (1-1-0)Ryan Falkenham 3G 1A 4P Timo Meier 1G 3A 4P Cavan Fitzgerald 1G 2A 3P Maxime Fortier 1G 2A 3P Morgan Nauss 1G 2A 3P Kevin Resop 3.89 GAA .837% NHL Camp Players : Matt Murphy, Nikolaj Ehlers and Zachary Fucale You don't have to look very far to see that last time the Wildcats visited Halifax for a home opener. Last year the Wildcats shutout the Moose 4-0. theqmjhl.ca/schedule/show/game/64671It should be a pretty even game with both teams missing key players. Still debating whether I'm going to wear my Foreurs jersey or Wildcats jersey. Go Cats Go!

This is the closest the Wildcats and Mooseheads have been skill wise in quite some time. (2012-13 wasn't close. ) Either team could win on any given night. Should be a fun season series. 4-3 Moncton. 8062 in attendance.

It's almost like a good omen now. Like saying 9999-1 other team.

The last 2 years, Halifax has been the team to beat in the division and it was always easy for the lower team to get up for them and play their best ... while vice versa, Halifax probably took the lower teams too lightly.

I think it is the case in hockey just by the type of sport it is. Just have to look at the NHL. Becomes routine until the playoffs when teams that have it altogether win. Junior has a few more unknowns perhaps just because of turnover of players and age.

Halifax has come out flat in nearly every home opener in recent memory (1-3 in their last four, and the win nearly wasn't after they blew a three-goal third period lead v. Bathurst a couple years ago), that would be with the deep, skilled teams.
I don't think it will be any different, this time with a vastly-depleted defense.
Which means the pups will probably come out flying, energized by a near-full house.
Still, Moncton 5-2.

I'm sticking with Halifax on this one. Moncton is missing their biggest guns still, going to be a fun game regardless

5-1 Halifax as I have in FNP, that may be far fetched but we do have some bodies back now only missing Lussier, Ehlers, Fucale and Murphy for sure now. Gadoury, Hardie, Josh Fitzgerald are day to day now so they may be good to go by tomorrow night.
Be interesting to see if the name change is the only thing that has taken place so far with the new agreement.

Would expect lots of promotional things to get info out.

It will be interesting to see how the webcast looks... will they just feed in the big screen again, or actually set up a camera? I hope they have a fresh feed, as you now have the ability to rewind if you miss something, which was a benefit of seeing the replays before vs other feeds.
