Not through an AHL team but he absolutely can sign with an ECHL team. That wasn't part of the question. The question asked "if he signs with an AHL team ... " I know that but I think what he was really wanting to know is wether or not we can lose Lalonde to the East Coast as well , which we can.

Once Tkachev is back, I think Leger could start eating into Olivier's ice time, I find he's been a disapointment so far. largely a passenger with Smith and Johnson. Olivier has been very solid and is a crucial part of our defensive game and penalty kill. He's not the most polished player but is very effective in his role. I find it's more that he looks good because of the speed and effort of his linemates. Have not seen much offensively or physically from him.

Yes that's a possibility. No ... if he signs with an AHL ... and not an NHL team ... he'll have no affiliation with an ECHL team. If he signs with an NHL team then he can go anywhere they decide. AHL teams can sign guys to 2 way deals where they can send them to ECHL and call them up in case of in jury. J-P Chabot had one like that and played ECHL at 21.
