Does anyone else think losing Farrell, Legare and Brassard this year...Is a pretty big loss the year before our contending year? I know it's early, but take Farrel's contributions and even Leagres' 2 goals the other night against the Dogs and his leadership in Russia.( Plus the scoring line) What exactly do we need in future picks and trades to make up for that loss of offense. Are we planning on buying at Xmas from rebuilding teams? ( 19 year olds? ) Or are we waiting for next year? PS: Farrell so far as been amazingly better then we ever could have hopped for Darcy to be. People keep mentioning if Darcy had of been back... I keep mentioning the fact that Farrell is still here. I thought about it but don't really think it'll be too much of a big deal, every year there is rebuilding teams looking to move point per game 20 year olds before the season starts. Obviously it'll suck to lose them before our real "big year" so to speak but I think next year our defense core will realistically be the best in the league if they keep developing and most of our top forwards will be in their 19 year old seasons. Plus this year we almost need to use some of our picks on a top 19 year old, otherwise we'll be having 4 1st round picks next year and very few available roster spots. You right emerz. You don't base your season on a farrell who is playing unbelievable yes, but over his head right now. He is replaceable as a 20 in this league. This back end needs a year to develop. We may lead the league in goals, but giving up that many a game wont work.

The core of the team is the 17 and 18 yr olds and there's zero 19's who can play as overagers in this bunch which makes any success this year even more incredible. Other then Farrell the other 2 20's have been disappointing. Another year of development for everyone PLUS 3 new 20's trumps losing almost anyone.

Didn't see Saturdays game and havent had a chance to post about Friday until now.
Suprised nobody posted about Svechnikov's benching for a part of Friday's game. Must have been a 10 minutes stretch or so with him stapled to the end of the bench. He was flying afterwards.
We need more from our 19yr olds. Brunelle not helping himself with the undisplined play. The slash while already getting penalty was pretty dumb. Nosella is not Q calibre and Brunelle is borderline as well. I like Gray but he doesn't get more then 1 or 2 shifts per period. This is our #1 weakness to address at Christmas.
SJ's youngsters looked great and dominated us in the 3rd while Auger shut the door. Noel was dynamite and Luke Green very impressive. Also liked Zboril. Liked their entire blueline actually, Leblanc also played well I thought.

Svechnikov doesn't play on the penalty kill and we had a stretch of almost the entire 2nd period on the PK so that's why about the benching. theqmjhl.ca/schedule/show/game/67275Shows like 12-14 straight minutes of PK time starting near the end of the first. -- I agree about Brunelle (hes taking wayyy to many penalties this year for no reason when we have the lead) and Nosella though, wouldn't mind packaging Nosella in a deal for a 19 year old D man at christmas if any teams have interest in him.

Fully agree that we need to address the 19 year old situation going forward. Ithink Brunelle is too undisciplined right now and Nosella has not shown any improvement over last year. Mason Gray looks like a kid that can skate and shoot along with playing the physical game, would like to see him get more ice time. I think Beaudin could easily replace Nosella on the backend. Look for some upgrades at Christmas. Looks like Baie-Comeau and Chicoutimi might be good trade partners as neither have not too many high end picks and both look like mid pack teams.
