Legare is a better offensive player than Bishop. If anybody belongs on the 3rd line in that group it would be Bishop. I disagree with this. Legare is 2 years older and doesn't have the same complete game Bishop brings. Bishop has been dominant since coming back. Only way Bishop gets pushed out of the top 6 is by a more polished forward being brought in. Legare should be point per game, but I think Bishop will be closer to 1.5 barring injury. You're expecting Bishop to go from 0.58 PPGM to 1.5 PPGM? Seriously?

if the focus is solely on this year, yes - but if next year is still in the picture, that trade leaves us with no goalie for next year
awesome news, though, and will hopefully add to the general excitement on the Island and put more people in the seats

Should be a very interesting trade period come Christmas time.

Someone forgets the boomerang trade. You guys need to realize something here. You guys just got a player who is a top 5 scorer in the league for free. Your in a very weak division. You have a very strong team already. Knowing all that plus it's a Q Mem Cup year you make trades like that. The cost isn't going to be as bad as you would think. You have 2 1st rounders this year so it would be those plus Dubois and O'Leary. That could really get it done. Maybe another player like Corbeil too. But That for a ring is worth it. Plus if your giving up Brassard we can throw in Hardie and you that would put your team over the top for sure. 3 1sts this year + a potential 4th if we release O'Leary in to the draft again, I almost feel like we have to go for it this year. We won't even be really sacrificing, we could trade 3-4 1st round picks this year and still not even be in bad shape. Not at all plus you would still have Murphy next year. You guys pretty much have to go all in now.

]Not at all plus you would still have Murphy next year. You guys pretty much have to go all in now. Eagles don't HAVE to go all in now. Especially if it's for a tendy like Fucale. He's been downhill ever since his good run and he won't be back next year. Selling the future for him is just going to result in CB looking for a tendy again in 9 months.

I brought that deal up just to mess around a few weeks ago. Those two players would fit well in a run but the cost will be way too much unless nobody is willing to overpay. Besides , I doubt either team will be willing to help each other out that much being in the same division. Someone forgets the boomerang trade. You guys need to realize something here. I think a deal is there to be made and Halifax has enough vets to fill our biggest holes.

Makes more sense to go after Cadorette and try and get players like Murphy and Falkenham from Halifax.

We can overpay to do so, but all in is not a term I would use.

You have great defence already but a solid 19yo would put it over the top. Your 3 lines don't need any help now that Darcy is back. A top is needed. Weather that be Fucale or not, it's needed. Dumont can make these moves with out really hurting your team next year. With the assets that are there other then Dubois no one else would be moved. I know no ones going to like it but any top 19yo Dmen comes in, whatever team he comes from will want Dubois.

So a team will take less from someone else while demanding Dubois from us? I doubt any other contenders have a top 5 pick to dangle in trades. We have enough assets to keep certian assets if we want and still get what we need. Doubt it's happened too often where a contender has the assets we do as a buyer so arguing over untouchables and what would/would not happen is rather pointless.

I don't think anybody would classify Cape Breton's defense as of today as great
They need to add two top D... but up front they can afford to really look for depth type players to round out the bottom six

Quebec don't have a first, second or third in 2015. And have they even any decent prospects to dangle? Booth at 18 and donaghy at 19 is probably the best they can offer as players. They dont have the higher end 16/17 rebuilding teams would want so they are in a tough spot. and losing Kamenev and Duclair from the top 6 is a massive blow. Rimouski have a first in 2015 but again not a great pool of prospects to dangle. So that puts CB in an even stronger position at the trade table.

The key thing as well is we should be able to get 2 runs out of this team so overpaying for a 2 year player makes a lot more sense.
