Well, it is going a ways back but there is that thing about Svechnikov showing up as well! If that doesn't count, O'Leary is bound to show up at the C200 next week (Even though he's actually with Dubuque in the USHL now) The weird thing about him is that A) zero reporting from the CB Post on his status and B) his twitter lists him as an Eagle prospect. Makes you wonder what the real intentions are.

I wonder what value Brassard holds. Would be nice to get a 4th or 5th but does anyone want a 20yr old goalie right now? I think you might struggle to get a 4th or 5th for Brassard. Can't see a real fit for him but someone may take a chance if he was pretty cheap. Only team with an open 20 spot is Rimouski and he isn't an option there with Desrosiers/Tremblay. So someone would have to cut a player for him so that needs to be taken into account. So might be tough to find somewhere for him. Someone might bite for a 7th or so but does anyone have a pair of goalies both struggling really bad to make someone make that move?

Assuming Hache does come back to Cape Breton, and let's also assume Brassard doesn't start impressing in nets and this new guy (if he does end up playing for you) isn't overly impressive either, you guys look like ideal trading partners for Baie Comeau and go after Cadorette.
If you added him and really went for the kill and grabbed Vanier at the same time....well I wish the rest of the teams in the Q good luck in trying to beat your team.

BC is the team you target before Halifax for trading. Cadorette and vanier, I know the price will be high, but how high?

Let's hope this American kid is the answer in nets, Hache returns and we won't have to worry about a trade with Baie-Comeau.

"If" Hache did return this weekend I assume that means Sullivan gets the nod for a bit since Forbes Ploszaj will be leaving Saturday?
Wondering what type of timeline we're looking at here.

What makes you think Ploszaj will be leaving Saturday? I would think that somebody in the organization has seen this kid play, please tell me that we have not gone back to the Pierre Rioux days as GM when he wasted a high Euro draft pick on a kid that didn't even make the team. From what I have seen from Dumont and his scouting staff thus far, they know what they are doing as far as bringing in talent for this team is concerned.

There was a media quote somewhere saying he's in town until Saturday. Not sure what Roux has to do with a kid in town to look over our situation and vice versa. He didn't cost us any draft picks and he came here on his own. Isn't that the opposite of what happened under Roux?

Give your head a shake eagle62. Every post you make either is negative or pointless. And you do realize even if we get hache back, we will be making one or two big moves at Xmas, and vanier will be on that list of potiental targets. And the goalie costs nothing like jb said. Its just a tryout.

If that doesn't count, O'Leary is bound to show up at the C200 next week (Even though he's actually with Dubuque in the USHL now) I was going to say the same thing minus the the Dubuque thing which I didn't know. lol Also I tweeted that I heard a rumor of Hache coming back to Patrick Macneil and Wily Palov and neither one of them heard anything about it. Although Palov said, "I'll have to check into it." And Patrick mentioned that Hache did not play in the season opener AHL and that his clun has 9 dmen with 7 of them on NHL contact including Hache. So take it for what it is worth. I hope he does come back. We would be greatly improved and no question would defiantly be one of the top teams and favorites to win it all.

Some info from a follower of the Pirates:
Campbell-Reese Gormley-McNeill Melindy-Oberg/Louis
Southorn Hache
--
Hache is basically 9th on the depth chart at best, so its highly likely hes either heading to ECHL Gwinnett or back to us.

Here's the scoop. Heard moments ago at the game from an extremely reliable source that Hache will be back this weekend, Forbes is here in the rink watching and Brassard will be moved. Interesting, instant defensive improvement with Hache's return and Brassard has fell way short so far this year. Just heard the exact opposite . One of us has an unreliable source and is wrong ........and I hope it's mine .

In looking at Portland's schedule, they have a 3 game in 3 night road trip beginning tonight. maybe they are going to see how the weekend shakes out before making any decisions.
