We played well overall. It was a good effort. But WAY too many missed nets on our best chances. Sometimes you just have to bury it in the middle of the net instead of trying to pick a corner. Sometimes it will force the goalie to make a save, with the chance of a rebound. Other times you will aim dead center in the net but miss by 2 feet hitting a corner. Many great scorers have been quoted saying they just fire it at the net as hard as they can and good things happen. I think we are trying a little too much on good chances, gripping the stick too hard as the saying goes. I also thought we had some bad puck luck. But full credit to MacDonald, he was outstanding as always.
Our secondary scoring is what's killing us. Gadoury, Ehlers, Meier are our best offensive weapons. But we need more consistent production from guys like Falkenham (2pts in Oct), Danny Moynihan (6 point-less games in Oct), Fortier (3 points in Oct) and Shewfelt (1pt in Oct).

The Moynihan 6 games pointless thing is kind of... pointless, as Gadoury also has 6 pointless games in October. Meier has 5. Heck, Ehlers is pointless in 4 of his 9 games. The team has been shut out 3 times in October, and has 3 other 1 goal games. We need more consistent scoring from everyone.

With regards to the Oct 29 game. Ehlers and Gadoury didnt even use their linemates for the first 3 PP opportunities. A little more team work in the 3rd period. They were skating around making plays themselves and not passing. Eventually they used Meier and got that goal. If they are going to play Diva all the time like that they just will keep missing great opportunities. someone mentioned the bad D (worst in Q GA) - OK factor out the 7-0 loss to SJ by far the worst game and then the 9-0 loss to Victo and its reasonable. I watched the entire 9-0 loss to Victoriaville. That game was competitive through half way. 2-0 and then 3-0 and it was same reasons PP early guys not sharing the puck. Kelly Bent instigating plays that went against the Moose and thats why things turned but by and far the main reason they lost 9-0 instead of a nicer score was Kevin Resop. He was awful on many of the goals that broke it open. Victoriaville was not out chancing the Moose in that game through most of it. The eye test showed that Trevor Whitney stood on his head at times killing penalties but Resop was the worst I have seen a Moose goalie play in about 4 seasons.
