Was Shewfelt hurt Sunday or was it just hit turn to be a healthy scratch? I haven't seen anything from him to make me think he's in the dog house. Although 1 point in his last 15 games isn't doing him any favors. I am disappointed, offensively, in Shewfelt, Falkenham and Fortier. They all seem to have a good combo of speed and skill but haven't contributed anything offensively really. Fortier in particular, IMO, looks like he should be able to do more. He always seems to be noticeable and do things creatively, but never ends up with a big chance or goal. He seems like he is on the verge of breaking out, or at least, should be close to breaking out. He could be one of those guys who gets a bigger role after Xmas and finishes up very strong. Don't worry Shewfelt is only a goal behind the great cam darcy

Fortier will be fine. He's still adjusting to the speed and strength of the Q but he has the skills and nose for the net to put up points in this league. He will be a top line player at 18/19, which is good return for a late 2nd round pick.
Shewfelt is struggling. Classic sophomore slump scenario. He's worked like a dog last year every second on the ice and he was rewarded with a good rookie year. This year he hasn't been showing that intensity every shift. The jury is out on him because he isn't highly skilled so he needs full effort to be effective. Much like Brendan Gallagher in the NHL.
I'm concerned Falkenham isn't going to be the same player he was. His skating seems really really bad. Which is 100% understandable with the hip surgery and entire year off. But he's 19 now and looks like he's labouring to keep up out there. Doesn't have much jump at all. Hopefully it's just a matter of getting his conditioning and legs back, because he is a smart player with a good shot, and obviously a good leader with them handing him the C after missing a whole year.
