They discuss it somewhat on here but its in french lol lhjmq.nouslesfans.com/t4994p705-drakkar-2014-2015These are from page 48 "With DiCristofaro taking the Cape , is that Cameron Darcy could be part of the exchange ?" "This is not be the conclusion of an agreement for Cadorette Cape Breton , youth and choice of repechage" The one who mentioned Darcy doesn't know what he's talking about. The one who started the rumor is a B-C fan who would like the team to sell and he says what he heard pleased him. He is well connected too. Thats how I read it as well. (I have to read French slowly to not make mistakes interpretting the meanings of what is said lol). If so, that completely changes everything and makes it most likely that if there is a trade, its with Cape Breton or Charlottetown. They are really the only 2 Maritime teams I'd say have both highly touted young prospects at forward AND defense that would be regarded highly enough to be involved in a "big trade". Of course people's definition of big trade can vary and this ends up being a small or average type deal and very underwhelming lol. SJ does have the young pieces in both positions as well I suppose but the highly touted youth SJ has are all guys I can't see them being interested in moving at all.

If there is any truth in the rumour, you would think it would be Halifax or Bathurst. One would hope so anyway. Only thing that makes me think it's not Bathurst as I predicted? The fact that there is no posted rumor by a Bathurst fan yet. By now one of the 5297 people that contributed $10 to become a part owner of the team should have said something to CHSB if Bathurst did work out a trade. That and the rumour was Baie Comesu not drummondville

The Quebec board nous les fans has Gregoire and Cadorette going to Cape Breton for Lalonde, Dubois and a first round pick. Not sure if Gregoire is playing yet but will be in the AHL next year, Cadorette would be around for next year as well. Seems like a lot to pay.

That is not a lot to pay for Gregoire and Cadorette at all - but going for a guy like Gregoire wouldn't be a wise move for CB unless they are thinking of making a big run this year. Two-year players would seem to fit their plans better. They still need a top-pairing D though. But that is a good deal for two elite 19yo players. Gregoire hasn't played yet but is due to return soon.

Would not make that. Trade at all giving up too much for possibly one guy returning next year Gregorio May not be back next year

Not enough impact coming in for now or the future for what we're giving up.

Gregoire though....far from a guarantee of not being back in the Q next year. He was a 6th round pick. About a PPG player last year. Missing a large chunk of this year due to injury. I would not be shocked to see him sent back to the Q as a 20 year old. It would be a bit risky to acquire him, but stranger things have happened and better players have been sent back. I certainly would be making any trade for him have conditions on his returning as a 20 year old, if possible. With the abundance of 1st round picks that Cape Breton has you'd have to assume one or more of those would be going along with whatever immediate young players. I'd have a term in there that if Gregoire doesn't come back to the Q as a 20 year old, the 1st round 2016 pick comes back, or whatever.

If this is true, I find it a very high price for Cape Breton to pay. Dubois will potentially be one of the top players in this league over the next three years. He's a fifth overall, was ranked third, and is living up to his billing early on. Cape Breton needs a goalie, yes, but they have to address their 19 year old defence. They have enough scoring power, once everyone is healthy, etc. They are giving up two established young players plus a first round for an undrafted goalie and a 6th round player with one season of a point per game hockey. Maybe, in the future, we should put more emphasis on scouting out some high prospect goalies and drafting them. Cape Breton seems to be one of the teams that pays high when their buying but doesn't seem to get that when their selling. Certain players should be untouchable, unless it is an exceptional player in the deal. I don't see that in this trade.

Not enough impact coming in for now or the future for what we're giving up. That is not a high price in a Memorial Cup year for two of the best players that may be available. Cadorette is a top 1-3 goalie in the league. Lalonde and a 1st alone is the price a 19yo goalie that will return of that level will get. Then Gregoire for Dubois is fair value for a player of Gregoire's calibre. He's one of the best two-way forwards in the league and likely a 40-50 goalscorer over a season. For two elite 19yo olds that is a very fair price. And who better than those two are likely to be available? Compare it to last year. Bibeau cost a 1st, 3rd, 4th for him and an 8th. Hudon went for 3 1sts Gaudreau a 1st, 2nd and player Hell, even Oliver Cooper went for two firsts and Gregoire is a far superior player. That is more than fair value when you weigh up what elite 19yo will cost you. Look at those calibre players in history and it's a pretty similar price. Their NHL drafted positions are irrelevant, it's what they bring at the Q level that is. Look at what Moncton paid for Danault. You've got to pay to get those type of players. Now I don't think it's a good deal for CB because it's not ideal for the plans but with everything considered it's not unusually high. Out of interest what do you think Cadorette and Gregoire are worth? (Bearing in mind CB offered 2 1sts and 2 2nds for Cadorette at the draft and prices from draft to Xmas aren't hugely different, you're paying for a run)
