Well we won, but why am I not happy? Looks like we will be buying. I am afraid we will have some false hope going on. Hope I am wrong. Go Mooseheads? It's good that we're playing well right now. I'll never be upset that the Moose win. But I don't think Cam will be fooled by the recent run we've been on. We have 3 major offensive weapons in Ehlers, Meier and Gadoury. After that we don't have much. I'm not too concerned about a buy this season. I'm more concerned about a "stand pat and hope we can steal one playoff round" approach. We need to take advantage of the assets we have. We're too big of a franchise to be nickel and diming our way to a 2nd playoff round. We want to build for another Memorial Cup shot. Buying is the worst case scenario but seeing as how it is the least likely scenario as far as the Mooseheads are concerned I am not worried about it. In the next 5 weeks or so we'll see if Cam learned from Patenaude back in 2005-2006 and more importantly if Bobby has by allowing Cam to make the right moves by selling off Fucale, Gadoury, Ehlers, Murphy, Hardie etc. - doesn't have to see all but Fucale and Ehlers, especially with his 10 points in 2 games, have great value for the teams that are looking to be in Quebec City in May. As soon as Fucale, Ehlers and Meier are gone for Word Juniors we're going to get a reminder of how bad it will be next year when they Fucale and Ehlers are gone- Ehlers will not be back next year. Also keep in mind Gadoury and Hardie are gone at the end of the year. If the Mooseheads stand pat- yes we'll have a half decent second half, finish about 9th to 11th and might win a playoff round then get beat out in the 2nd round and our first rounder in 2015 is around 9th-10th overall. Oh and we have nothing else coming in draft picks from other teams in either 2015 or 2016 or 17s or 18s to help speed up the rebuild.

Even if you stand pat I wouldn't count yas out of winning the division. I think it can be done. SJ seems to be cooling down. Moncton has a good team and are probably the best in the division right now. I think they buy. I think you guys are better than the Islanders and Cape Breton. Reports are that Cape Breton will be buying which I think is a mistake. I really don't know what way the Islanders will go but I don't think they will be real busy. Which means probably a 3-5th place finnsih in the division for us.

I could see Russell saying the offers were not good enough.

I'm pretty sure reading in the media and hearing things that we can't trade either Ehlers or Gadoury they both have no trade clauses, or at least Ehlers does and I'm assuming Gadoury does as that was probably part of the deal of him coming to Halifax.

You think if Ehler's or Gadoury have a chance to go to Quebec or Rimouski or a team that has a chance to win it all, that they won't waive their "no trade" clause and report?

Oh and we have nothing else coming in draft picks from other teams in either 2015 or 2016 or 17s or 18s to help speed up the rebuild. We have BAC's 2nd rounder in 2015 (as well as their 7th), and CHI's 6th rounder. Personally, I'm not too worried about the rebuild, even if we don't sell a bunch this year. I don't think we need to sell big because we didn't really buy big in the last 2 years. And also unlike after the run in 08, not all the top players either turned pro (some unexpectedly like Voracek and Corsi) or graduated from junior. This time we were able to trade off some 20s like Beauchemin, Ryan, and Ciampini to recoup some of the few draft picks that were spent.
