Darcy needs to grow the hell up and realize that no one is going to give him a contract, he has to earn it. Based on his play last year I can see why he was given a shot but if he is not in the teams immediate plans and gets sent down to junior he should take it as the next step in his development. It seems that these kids nowadays are nothing but over privileged babies that bitch and moan when things don't go their way. I for one am very excited to see him go somewhere else. He was like a virus to this team since his return. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up but based on his play this year, happy to move on and hopefully turn this year around.

It seems that these kids nowadays are nothing but over privileged babies that bitch and moan when things don't go their way. How is this 1 example out of dozens any different then the 1 examples 5, 10, 15, or 20 years ago? Has nothing to do with 'kids these days' and everything to do with the mindset of the individual making the decision. People love to shit on today's youth who are growing up under microscopes like we've never seen before while forgetting about all the 'over priviledged babies' who came before them. He isn't the first and won't be the last CHL player to try a little less after getting drafted. But there's no need to label an entire generation because of 1 mistake from 1 person.

He may not have acquired all of them but they've all played under him long enough for them to be his players. A player like Pelletier has regressed from last year much like Darcy. I suppose you can choose to ignore them as statistical anomalies or we can ask the questions of why the development has stalled or regressed for certain individuals. Players like Deschamps and Svechnikov may be in their 1st years but they're not really rookies as they're expected to contribute. And take away the individual players and look at just the team on the ice and there's been a massive change from the second half of last year even though there was not a massive player turnover. If anything there was a mass consensus that we should expect improvement. Now that we're near the basement the reviews of the coaching and management need to happen. Keep trading for tomorrow in this market and eventually the team that enjoys the benefits of any work done today might be playing in a different city. How wasn't there massive player turnover? Half this seasons roster wasn't on CB last season.

Yes blame needs to go on the goaltenders, but its now a disturbing trend where there's goaltenders under-performing in CB. Bureau didn't even look like he belonged in Major Junior when he played for you guys, and now he's got one of the leagues better records in Sherbrooke. Brassard is not a bad goalie either, maybe not the greatest, but certainly much better than his current performance. Do you need a goalie coach? We had Gouthro as our goalie coach up until this year. The consensus has been that he was a talented coach. He went on to greener pastures. He was not fired. We have a former guy who coached the Cats now but because the results have not changed I would not blame the goaltender coach. The blame should be allocated to the goalie , defence , and head coach. If you look back it seems no goalie excelled under Dumont. Even with the Miners. He never did have an all-star goalie to work worth but guys that should be average are not even close to that. Ok let's try this again. I said a long time ago that there has been a numerous amount of goalies that have come down to the nest lately and unfortunately have had nothing but issues let's start Trudeau went packing to ValD'or and then finished his Junior career in Ottawa to be playing now in the AHL he had to make a few changes and we have Lagace who got himself on to a NHL team as a prospect and was in the AHL with Texas Stars and then in the ECHL with Missourri and Chase Marchand who was not given that much of a chance in the nest and went to the OHL had a tough time came back to the Q and went from the island to the tigres in victo and is having an incredible season he is only what 5th in the league after 17 games 550 shots 2.64 GA and a 924% best in the league.
Oh and Bureau who most on here said he could not stop a beach ball and for some reason in Sherbrooke this year 17 games 443 shots 2.78 GA and a 896% oh yeah and Fortin who most seem to throw him under the bus because of the playoffs were he does not even get the first start but comes into a game that was already over with and then on the 2nd Dumont still goes with Bureau even after what happened after the first game and what happens the same thing as the first he is left to mop up the floors so what we come back to the Nest and we decide what the hell after getting our ass kicked in Gatineau will give Fortin the net and the 1st period is not that bad and then everything just goes downhill from there I will not even repeat what I heard from a couple of billet families how the boys had given up great team spirit wer is the coaching staff HMMM!
The team did not give a shit anymore everyone could not wait to go home so tell me were did Fortin get a fair chance what in the half season he played with what a 8 and 2 record and winning his last 5 or 6 games and then being told well you have done good but we decided to start the playoffs with Bureau.
Oh by the way chatted with someone recently who knows the Fortin Family and you do not even know the story MR Bauer about what happened about him leaving the Q. The kid got fed up after having some very good success and got an offer to play out West and when Dumont went and got Brassard he said after what he and Dumont talked about at the end of the season and then he pulls of that trade he decided to forget it, not bother coming back even if Dumont called him a bunch of times to negotiate with him coming back and then after not understanding his desire to go elsewhere like out west he said he had a trade with another Q team that wanted him.
Somewhere you have to figure this kid decided enough is enough you hold down a 16-3 record and a 9-4 record the year before which was not bad and don't start saying his games were chosen and he only played against the easy teams I went and did my homework.
Now he is in a not bad JR league in Western Canada and not doing that bad at all after 23 starts with a 3-4 place team he is one of the goalies with the most shots in the league 790 so averaging about 35 shots per game while maintain a decent 918% so you know what at the end of the day I have to say with all the goalies that has gone through the nest lately and seeing the success they are having elsewhere.
I have to ask were are the issues again, please see possibly behind the bench Dumont may know how to bring a team together and that's all good as you need a good manager but when you lead the boyz to the ice you have to provide them some strategy and a system with those incredible offensive skills they have not just open the door and say let's go guys we need another goal as if we learn how to keep possession of the puck and maintain a good defensive zone checking system maybe just maybe we may be able to score just a couple more goals than the other guys because we broke down their scoring chances in our zone with a decent system.
And we have Mr Bauer saying are you going to offer any comments with substance GEEZ that's what I have been trying to do for some time but as one poster recently said when you don't agree with all mighty Jack Bauer you get nailed well my friend as we say in hockey keep your head up as you are good but you do not know everything.
So here you go my friend go do your home work before telling everyone that our goalies are crap. I have been saying for a while now that our TEAM does not work as a TEAM and that sure the goalies have to take some blame but you know what when all you seem to do is practice your offence what the hell do you think happens when you put an talented offensive team on the ice that just don't get it in there defensive zone so hell all breaks loose because we do not have a good system so hey let's blame the goalie....

Players like Deschamps, MacIntyre, Brassard, and Svechnikov should have had short adjustment periods with the longest for the Euro. When you return Darcy, Farrell, Pelletier, Bishop, Lazarev, Simard, Bell, Brunelle, Lalonde, Leveille and all 4 players like the ones I mentioned above you are returning a veteran core. That's 14 players including what should be a teams strengths...top 8F 5D and 1G including 3 impact 20's and 2 impact Euro's. There's always turnover, but when you return more then you lose you don't expect to get worse.

Have you noticed i've never once said you were wrong about the goaltending? People get sick of reading 1 line snappy answers that yes, have no substance. If that 'all mighty Jack Bauer' is what it takes to have more then Mickey Mouse discussions then I'm proud I was able to drag a half decent post out of you that had a lot of good info in it. I've never claimed to know everything. And I will never be scared to ask someone to explain themselves.

Well I guess if we're counting new players as returnees then I guess you're right it makes absolutely no sense. You expect Deschamps MacIntyre and Beaudin to walk in and have the impact of Beaudry Hache and Woodworth immediately with no hiccups? An NHL pick & 2 overagers. 2 of those guys were top 6 scorers for CB and 1 was the captain, those are huge shoes to fill. Up front we see Corriveau Beaton Gauthier (Legare or Darcy) leaving and in comes who? Svechnikov is huge but Dubois is 16 and they're both first timers in the Q. After that it's rookies like Boucher/Martineau/Tower/Smith as your secondary scoring/bottom 6? I said it before and I'll say it again, this team is still extremely young & inexperienced.

Yes our D are still really young but Bell,Lalonde, Nosella, And Leveille gained a years experience. As did Deschamp and MacIntyre (they had long enough to adapt to a new team). Of course Hache's lose is huge but Beaudry was terrible defensively and Woodworth was only average. I thought adding a 20yo goalie would go a long way to suring up the D.
Gaurhier and Beaton underachieved here last year so their lose isn't great. Legare and Corriveau were good but the pick up of Svechnikov and the 8 returnees adding another year experience should be more than enough to offset the offensive loses. This is junior hockey. Are we the only team to lose anyone? When you consistently see 5 goals allowed on 17-20 shots who should get the brunt of blame??? I can only think of a couple games where I thought Brassard was solid. Is he the whole problem? Of course not but he's an obvious place to start. If you give him a pass there's no hope to ever see your own face again because it's too far up your ass!! I would give Dumont about 3 weeks after the trade deadline to see improvement in this team before calling for his head. If a player shake up doesn't work then he is the next to go. This is still a young team but their not showing any progress and are playing uninspired hockey. They can't go waste this year by not making huge improvements. After the high expectations along with the weakness of our division it really hurts to see where this team sits in the standings.

You did not say that until like 2 weeks ago. Almost unanimously from coast to coast we were picked to be a top team and potential league contender. It was not quite as obvious as you would like to believe it should have been. Its not just what I was expecting it is what everyone was expecting. Counting returning league vets as returnees is no shocking statement.

I was definitely expecting better from CB but I wasn't crowning them either. I knew the team was young and that's the main reason why I wasn't prepared to sell the farm when Darcy was sent back. If they blew the roof off the league, I was willing to revisit the idea of buying at Christmas. That hasn't exactly happened. If everyone was jumping off a bridge, would you do it? Everyone expected better play but it wasn't everyone buying the minute the Darcy thread was posted. Counting returning league vets as returnees is no shocking statement but it makes absolutely no sense in the context of the conversation. MacIntyre & Deschamps being league vets doesn't guarantee a smooth transition into a new system, with new partners, in a new rink, with a new coach, and a new off ice environment (especially for MacIntyre). It would be nice for 2 18 year olds to step in and immediately replace the impact of two 20 year olds from last season but more often than not, it's going to take some time. Could you just not try to tell me what I have & have not said. You misquoted me dozens of times, I've pulled up old quotes to show my original stance, and I'm not interested in playing that game again. I'm quite happy I stood by my stance of waiting until Christmas. Almost anything that could have changed since the day Darcy was sent down has changed. I wasn't overly invested in the idea of CB contending this year or being big buyers at Christmas so I'm not too disappointed going into the trade window. I won't be surprised with some movement but I also don't have to worry about Zach Fucale rumors.

Can't say I'm shocked, that feeling went away sometime last year - but not getting anything for Darcy is totally embarrassing! Drummondville just traded their 20yo captain for a 16yo and a whack of pics. Dumont let his personal feelings interfere here You don't know the entire story and I doubt we'll ever know. Totally different situation than the Drummondville trade.
