Looking at Tkachev in tonight's game he appeared(in my view) not to be in it at all. Granted he was injured and just starting with Quebec. My impression is Cats had a solid performance and A+ from Dubeau............ Dubeau for me should have been 1st star, his best game in a long time. Made 4-5 big saves before it got to 3-0 and 4-0. Burke, I barely noticed. Not really an explosive player though...serviceable OA but nothing more.

Worked hard and played a physical game On another note..I don't like to be tough on 17YO kids but if this was my team I am sending Bower to JR A for the rest of the year and calling up Jacob for the season. Its mind boggling that Jacob gets called up and makes things happen nearly everytime hes on the ice and plays top 6 but bower is playing on the 3rd/4th line. With Tkachev and Lalonde gone if they arent bringing in any more top 6 forwards its the perfect time to make this move. Bower is simply not showing much, he got the puck wide open in front of the net tonight and couldn't even get a shot off..not the first time thats happened.

Kevin DubéKDubeJDQ · 2 minil to 2 minutes Torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee to Cody Donaghey. Absence of eight weeks. #Remparts Usually torn ligaments are more like 6-8 months not 8 weeks. That's not ACL, that's a collateral ligament injury, not a anterior cruciate ligament.

It's no secret that Jacob is a very skilled player, and deserved to be there over Bower. He's always been a team player, he sees the ice, works hard and especially in the corners. That's what the cats should be looking for in a 17 year old.

I think you'll see Jacob here after Christmas. He's looked great in limited action. Very fast player.

They may make the change at midseason, but they'd have to sign him to a full season card, as an AF he can only play 10 games until MAAA season is done. I think the reason they kept guys like Tibbo and Bowers is Jacob's size played against him for a bottom 6 role. Will be interesting to see what they do for the rest of the season...

Watching Turcotte bounce off Murphy a couple times in the 3rd period was amusing. From the first time I seen him play I said he didn't look like a 16 year old at all and he's certainly a lot stronger than your average young player. He looked good last night and has looked quite good the past couple weeks now. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get a more expanded offensive role with Barbashev gone to World Juniors.

Shannon told us that both he and Malatesta would have been 1st rounders if there wasn't the NCAA cloak of suspicion surrounding them. I'm starting to believe that. I agree with you on Murphy ... as he has improved his conditioning he has really started to show his talent. I'm starting to see flashes of Keith Yandle in Malatesta ... love watching him skate the puck. His 1st 10-15 games were rough ... but he has really taken off since then.

Probably his best game this year. His conditioning is better...showed up in camp real heavy, seems to be moving better.

There is a lot of propaganda in there, guy trying to save his job. Murphy a 2nd rounder and Mala a 3rd would be more realistic. Not every good Q player is a 1st round pick. Malatesta should be a good #3-4 guy at 19. Defensive game is still an adventure but he is good with the puck and can throw a big hit. Murphy can be really good but it's all dependant on his work ethic.

Who the heck writes the game recaps on the Q site? Lol Headline: Wildcats Dominate Rempart 4-0 "Alex Dubeau was huge in the last five minutes of the second period stopping numerous shots on a 5 minute power play after Will Smith was ejected after kneeing Cody Donaghey." The Remparts didn't get anywhere close to a 5 minute power play out of Smith's penalty. "The Wildcats doubled the score at 15:44 when Eric Legere tapped home a one foot putt at the lip of the goal crease after Ivan Barbashev took the initial shot that was stopped by Booth." Legere, must be Steve writing the articles. "Coming into the game the Wildcat power play was ranked first in the Q with a 27.2% and they showed why at 17:23 of the second when Jacob Sweeney redirected a Stephen Johnson drive past Booth to give the Wildcats a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes of play." Lol what? Hodge had a much better description of the goal "Garland made a fine play to deliver a pass to Sweeney, who scored his sixth goal on a shot from the slot to put the Wildcats ahead 3-0 on the power play at 17:23." I'll ignore the lack of capitalization in Cape Breton. Source: theqmjhl.ca/article/wildcats-dominate-rempart-4-0/165060

No surprise, the league to review the hit on Donaghey.
