Just curious....was it just a Q website thing or was Sweeney really the only guy for Moncton last night that wore a letter?

Mullycats post does really make sense. Your basing Garlands play on this game. The fact is Garland has been involved in 43% of the teams point totals this year and has been on the ice for 52% of goals against. Stats do not tell the whole picture but they do show patterns. When you take into consideration his total power play points this blatantly shows his defensive game is lacking. Using Johnson as an example... he has been involved in 12% of team scoring and been on the ice for 11% of goals against.Which right now shows a much more responsible player. There are a few players stepping up and showing that they have offensive skills now that they are getting more icetime due to injuries. Garland is an offensive player but at the end of the day you need to be defensively responsible as well. Coaching should be able to fix that.

Something has to be wrong in the math there....I don't think there's any way Garland has been on the ice for almost 5 times as many goals against as Johnson.

He made a second user account to try and help prove his point. I don't think its really worth arguing here. It's really hard for me to comprehend why someone would come on here and rant on one of the most exciting players we've seen here in years. Is Johnson better than Garland defensively? of course he is, but a team is built with all sorts of different styles of players. I don't mind when someone gets knocked on if they aren't putting an effort forth, but since mid October or so Garland has actually improved immensely on defense, so the coaching is happening. Sacrificed his body last night blocking a slapshot.

I have to agree here. Not trying to be negative because he is a great player, no doubt one of the best. Yet his line gets scored against alot. At times, especially in the beginning of the season, I blamed the other players. But I started noticing that he doesn't always pass when the opportunities are there. A few times it led to loosing the puck. Regardless, he is hot right now. I enjoyed watching Jacob also. Imagine what he could do with proper training. Happy to see him getting more ice time with the cats. The end of the game was ugly. I'm sure Jacob does proper training, but he has a tiny frame, much like Tkachev. Frame and body type have a big impact on the ability for an athlete to get bigger. Yeah I wasn't really referring to his frame- was just referring to the advantage of training with the Q on a daily basis. Practicing with faster stronger players and better coaching what not. All interesting to see what would become of it.

Just because someone makes a comment about an area he needs to improve on doesn't mean they are shutting him down. No one on this site ever said he wasn't a great offensive player. The Cats are lucky to have this player.

To Curtis, your correct. I picked a random player and those figures belong to smith not Johnson. And to lirette.. i had my hands full trying to register one account. Don't be an idiot. If you want to argue about actual facts lets hear it. The numbers speak for themselves.

Not sure if there is a point in taking this much further. You said no wonder Garland had 5 points with all that powerplay time. Garland had 5 points all on even strength last night. Not much more to be said..

In the meantime Garland is fun to watch, not taking that away from him. This team is fun to watch!! Jacob is small in size but so far the games he has played in he has looked good. Be interesting to see what they do with him.

Be interesting to see what they do with him. I watched Jacob play against the SJ Vitos MAAA last night. He does appear to be a Connor Garland clone. Small, shifty, and a bit cocky (having lots of confidence may not be a bad thing). He even has the Garland "stick swirl" when he enters the circle for a face-off. Haha. The Wildcats have a real prospect there.

Kids like that deserve a break in my view.
